Quotes from Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin following practice.

Are you making a change at strong safety?

No. We are looking at a lot of things, across different positions. I gave you guys a depth chart. It speaks for itself. We are going to continue to work here, prepare ourselves and put ourselves in a position to play well on Thursday night.

Depth chart - SS Shamarko Thomas Will Allen Ross Ventrone

Right from the source.

My bold prediction: the moment Shamwow steps on the field Brady will burn him for a long TD throw.

Depth chart - SS 1st Shamarko Thomas 2nd Will Allen 3rd Ross Ventrone

Will Allen has been viewed as our 3rd or 4 the best Safety over the years. Now he's a starter because Shark is clueless out there and poor in coverage.

No.

Tomlin quoted late yesterday after practice.

If they start Sham-not so Wow- Thomas

you can bet Brady will light up the Steelers for 400 + yards.

I saw the depth chart and was puzzled by Thomas' reaction. Jesus the players don't even know what is going on. If he starts you can bet he is on a one F'k up leash.

Doesn't Shark have dreads? I believe that means his pedigree will help him hold the standard. I'm beginning to believe that capt cool shades is frequently high when making decisions. Maybe we have so many dreadies joining the team to keep Tomlin's weed supply full...I want an investigation cause he gotta be smokin sumthin'

Allen is our best S, sad but a situation we have to deal with

So Tomlin comes out and says that Thomas is the starter as listed on the depth chart, but Thomas says he was told Allen would start Thursday night. WTF?

If we had Ike or Troy or whomever, Brady was gonna throw for 400.....especially in todays NFL with all the different rules on contact its quite easy for established QBs to throw for 400. Ben could throw for 450 on their weak defense. We could easily roll up 40+ points vs them.........I fully expect more than 80 pts to be scored between both Thursday night...id be surprised if they did NOT..and combined 800 yds of total offense

Allen isn't nearly as splash play type...but he's solid and doesn't make the boneheaded mistake Seamark does.

Allen is old. But a smart player. Not to worried

Our strategy is now clear: make things so confusing that it will give crybrady and the bellicheats a migraine trying to figure out what the **** we are doing. Side effect: we all get them too!

All I can say is nine drafts in and nine F/A periods since Tomlin and Colbert began working together and all we have to show on defense is two solid players, a lot of question marks, and just as I like to term it, just guys at other positions. Pitiful! Most any other organization these two guys would be on the hot seat and not getting two year extensions. I sure hope these question marks work out.

I'm on board Coach Tomlin... send Shark on a safety blitz and hits Brady late which knocks her out of the game. Shark gets ejected and it's a win-win for the Steelers

Agreed! *sigh* truth hurts

Brady doesn't really have the deep arm anymore... he is like Peyton these days... he makes short and intermediate throws that his wrs turn into long scores

Just read that apparently it will be Gay and Blake on the outside, Allen in the slot. Boykin appears to be the No. 4.
