FYI ESPNU is playing last year's Orange Bowl. Ohio State vs. Clemson.

Damn would have liked to record it.............

Here are my thoughts after watching these two:

Shazier

Positives: You can tell he's quick. Nice lateral sideline pursuit and chases plays downfield.

Negatives: Seems to rely too much on speed. Wanted to run around some guys instead of taking them on. Want to see how he looks in pads.

Bryant:

Positives: Nice red zone threat. Made two 3yd TD catches where he fought and won 50/50 balls

Negatives: Didn't see any. It was the Sammy Watkins show so our boy didn't get a lot of looks.

that sounds eerily familiar

College then, Pros now. There definatele will be some adjustment (bonehead) plays as with any rookie. I'm thinking he starts right out the gate.
he'll make the "run around a guy" adjustment as the Pro game will dictate that he has to. No worries, just rapid development.

My least favorite part was watching Sammy Watkins lower a shoulder into Shazier's chest and truck him like a punk. Why stand there flat footed and stright up? I hope he's better in Black and Gold

Did you catch the stick Shazier had on that big *** running back inside the 10 yard line in the 1st quarter? They were too busy stroking Clemson so they didn't give it it's due with a replay but regardless nice hit.

I'm kinda worried after watching this. Hopefully he'll get coached up here. If not he's going to be a liability.

We will get to see what they have. Speed is nice to have. The thing about hitting and driving through a player is good in some instances but even if successful it may be enough of a slow down/ delay to allow the person being pursued to escape. Same can be said of running around someone as well. I just remember one thing that Barry Sanders said about flag football, vs tackle football, if they can't get your flag they will never tackle you.

Mike Wallace was a big deal when here because of his speed. It seems to have had a big effect on the coaches as they have begun a nearly Al Davis position on speed. I really would like to see it change both our offense and defense for the better. Foot was blasted over and over for his lack of speed, and every other player that seemed to loose a step here and there. They are trying to change it on both sides of the ball and I hope it works.

I think, team speed is huge in todays NFL. Seachickens showed us that. Even an average Qb, with team speed on both sides of the ball is what's dominating now. I understand power and strength both need in the mix also, but OLD vs NEW nfl, speed is getting a little more attention than it use to.

Yes and now we have two of those guys manning the middle of our defense

Ray Lewis was that type of LB... We just need to get the right Dlinemen in front of them to keep them clean like he did...
