I love what WATT brings to the table. The guy is more than a serious threat to wreck your entire offense on every single play. I truly believe that the Steelers can play with any high powered offense as long as he is out there. Having said all of that, he seems to get injured because of the way he plays. If he can wreak havoc on any given play and does not need repeated snaps to get into a groove.....I wonder if it would be a good idea to keep him on a snap-count to reserve his body. Maybe put him in on critical downs to stall a drive. He worrys me the way he plays. His absence is a major blow to the success of the whole team. I know it will never happen and WATT would not agree to it, but I really want to have his services for the entire year to see where this goes...Just a thought...

I hear your thought process and understand you would like Watt healthy all season..... but even your own words pretty much outline why this approach would never be implemented..

He can wreak havoc on any given play ......... is what I am referring to

A true DEF powerhouse team feed off of one another ......... Watt on the field makes the opposing team double/triple team him at times, thus allowing guys like Highsmith to step up and make plays .............one guy does not make a team but Watt is the tip of sword so to speak ...even if he does not make the play, his pressure and hurries create situations for others to make the play

Lol. Yep just bring him in during the 4th quarter in games.....on 3rd downs only. Maybe do the same for Harris and Fitzpatrick also. Should drastically lessen their chances of an injury.

Tomlin takes no comfort in that.

Right, who cares that it would also lessen the chances of winning.

If the game is in hand or 100% out of reach then doing the smart thing and replacing him with a reserve to get them some snaps makes sense…as far as workload management I actually thought MT did pretty decent with giving the front 7 a rotation pattern to get guys a breather here and there.

Think they started rotating as early as the second/third drive vs the Bungles

I loved the play of the D obviously, but I wished the O played a greater part in the victory.

Trubisky is gonna tear the Pats apart! You heard it here first!

The offense should shoulder the blame for the overuse of the defense in this and many other games.
Boom! Right here! 16 minutes for this offense against the Bengals and 44 minutes for the Bengals. You will lay out to dry any defense especially in todays pass happy NFL with that poor of an offensive display. Steelers better get this offense going and open up the playbook for RPOs, work middle of field, establish a running game and I’m not talking about Claypool and his jet sweeps, roll the pocket out with Mitch rather than drop him back deep. His best work is when he’s on the move and not dropping back in the pocket. Let him use his legs.

Tomlin doesn't live in a van, made of fear, down by the river!
His van defends every blade of grass, doesn’t have blinkers (even to signal lane changes he just holds his arm out the window) and obviously there is an entire rainbow of paint cans stashed in the back to paint the barn whatever color is necessary, it is of course a van of great pedigree

The only thing they should do is make sure to be conservative with him coming back… especially with that injury… if its a six week recovery, take six weeks, don’t let him talk you into coming back in 4 or something… give it time to heal and strengthen
