Well with Tombert drafting 4 - 3 type players for the last 8 years should Tomlin finally show Dick the door if he doesn't leave on his own?

Do you think he could find the door with his shades on.
I don't think it's Shades' place to fire a HOF'er like LeBeau, or Colbert for that matter. DLB is only on a contract for one year at a time, so Dan or Art II should tell him it won't be renewed and also apologize for drafting ****** players on defense.
LeBeau didn't make this mess... I'd like to hear his opinion behind closed doors on the Steelers 3rd round draft pick of 2014
As much as I love Dick LeBeau, I really believe it's time for him to retire. He hasn't been done any favors with the talent they've given him the past few years, but I just don't think this defensive scheme fools anyone any more. I think the Steelers need new blood (i.e., not Butler) and new ideas.
I'm forever grateful for what DL has done and believe he's one of the classiest guys in football.

I will agree with you on this point....This is also one of the many reasons I would like a completely new coaching staff. One where the HC decides who his coaches are or are not. The other area of concern is how much have the Rooneys been influencing on ALL of our coaches? It seems to me if I recall correct that most have a connection to the Pittsburgh area. Getting to be too AL Davis like...To hands on maybe.
Other than former players Lake and Porter who are not from here, I am not aware that any of the coaches have a connection to Pittsburgh except for Jerry Olsavsky and Todd Haley.
BOOM!!! I was starting to think it's the off-season around here, I was already looking for the mock drafts.

DL knows more about defensive football than all of us put together and all of the DCs in the league. That said, he can only 'make soup' with the ingredients he's been given.
THREE things have hampered DL in his ability to consistently field a top 5 defense together for 10 years.
1. He's not very vocal when it comes to 'shopping for the groceries' which has led to lack of 'system fit' players.
2. He is EXTREMELY loyal when it comes to players he has coached for a while and who try hard for him.
3. He has been fighting an uphill battle with lack of system players being drafted and reverts to players he knows.
If not for DL's loyalties, Troy and Ike do not see the field. We WOULD be better IMO without their on-field liabilities at their current level of play.
On the other side, we wouldn't have brought back Diesel and Deebo to show the youngin's how it's done in this league. He has had more schematic changes and packages this year than any other in his history...wonder why? We cannot stop the run...period. That's it. If you don't stop the run in the 3-4, you are going to have troubles. Players like Snack, Smith and Diesel made his job easy. Without them and at least 1 decent pass-rusher, we are toast. NOBODY can fix the problem we have without talent at key positions. We have talent at 'maybe' 2 positions. In the past, we had Smith, Snack, Diesel, Harrison/Porter, Troy(in his prime), Potsie, Ike(in his prime) and a decent FS. All were top 10 caliber players at their positions. That's 7-8 out of 11 on the field every week.
Where are we now? We have Timmons...and nobody else (maybe Gay) playing at top 10 levels. Why is this DL's cross to bear? Think ANYONE will be any better? I don't.
With an influx of talent suited for scheme OR a scheme switch to 4-3, we can get better. Right now we are waiting for the next 6 guys to step up.
Tuitt, Heyward, Jones, Shamarko and Shazier will get their shot next season to get to that level. If they ALL work out, we are short 1-2 players from giving DL something to work with.
I think he goes when Ike, Troy, Diesel and Deebo go after this season. If this happens, MT will switch to the 4-3 with Butler, IMO.

True, I forgot about Mann but he hadn't lived here in decades until the Steelers hired him.

Care to name who will become top 8-10 players in the 4-3 ? Mjght want to ask Cincy how important stopping the run is in a 4-3.

So even if Tomlin wanted him gone tomorrow, he does not have the power, IMO. Therefore, the survey question is invalid. So there. Ninny ninny boo boo.

Well let me just toss in the equivalent usual from the Tomlin supporters, you don't like him cause he's white, haters gona hate.
Record only thing that matters is 105 wins vs 55 losses, never had a season below .500 seven winning seasons, 3 seasons at 8 and 8. This season 8 and 5 puts him at 113 wins and 60 losses. That gives him a .653 winning percentage. Compared to MT Total[29] 79 46 0 .632
