It will be interesting to see how stadium ticket sales go in the near future. All of the old school hard-core fans will be mostly gone.


I've pretty much gone from being a hard-core fan of the game, to thinking it's complete garbage That's just the last 8-10 years, with it peaking to the point I cut all expenditures for it and could care less if they survive or not. Certainly not with the direction they're going. It's completely ruined for me.

Ben is the last tie to the "old Steelers". Ironically, as they were phasing out, he was the young rash, arrogant buck. Then, over time all the greats just faded.

There was a transition period of "relative success" with Brown, Bell and Bryant but even as they were putting up numbers and winning regular season games, you felt that the team just didn't have the same vibe, the same heart. They were becoming more... "Dallas'y".

And now... It's just not the same feel. When Ben retires, literally the next "Old man" will be what, a 5 year vet? And two of our oldest vets are transplants from other teams in Haden and Minkah.

Every time I see "It takes all of us" or "End racism" on helmets or behind the goal line, I cringe. It takes all of us to what? See that you're getting millions of dollars to play a sport & that racism in this day & age mainly consists of a black man staging his own hate crime? I don't discount there's still racism - but systemic, panic-inducing racism? Live in the now & focus on real things that are tearing this country apart.

All I really see when I look at the game these days is corruption & greed at the highest levels & plenty of spoiled young people who don't play the game like it used to be played.

The problem was he was enlisted prior to being selected to attend West Point and they knew then. Then when he was in his second year one of his instructors reported his communist leanings to the chain of command. Nothing was done to remove him then either. This was during the Obama regime, go figure huh?

I’m more than likely done as well. I’ve missed the games these past 3 weeks due to mandatory overtime at work and to be honest, I don’t regret missing the games. I didn’t bother with highlights or anything. That league is dying

I admire your dedication. I got sucked back in and have watched three or four games this year due to it being Rothlisberger’s last year and hoping that Tomlin would have that losing season to get the ball rolling on his departure.

I can't quite bring myself to hope that Tomlin has a losing season. Of course, I sort of expect that to happen, but I also know that he'll whip the players into a frenzy (like he did before the 2nd half of Miami and likely again in the 2nd half yesterday) so they play out of their minds enough to get him that sacred .500

However, the dreamer in me just wants to believe that somehow, someway they pull an 05 out of their hat. (I know. I should wish for something obtainable, like the powerball win.)
