Least surprising thing ever. Woke up to the news this morning. I’m only sad that the Pirates are willing to waste his best years for nothing substantive only to trade him when the time is right. I just want them to win. To contend. It wouldn’t take that much more money, but apparently too much for Bob.
I've been a Bucs fan since 79 and was a rabid fan during the Bonds, Bonilla, Van Slyke days but now could care less if they win or lose. That said, they're still my favorite MLB team but other than Skenes and Cutch, I couldn't give you another name on the roster. Hell I don't even know the name of the manager. It's sad but hoping that the Pirates do what it takes to win is comparative to hoping the govt does what it takes to balance the budget. Ain't gonna happen @Booted
Awesome achievement though. I hope he goes on to win a pennant somewhere. Preferably other than NY, Boston, or LA.

I'm sure Nutting has done the calculation and figured that he makes more money with a low payroll and losing team than he would with a higher payroll and a winning team.
I decided a long time ago that Nutting and the Pirates would get not a dime of my money as long as he owns the team.
Every pro sports league should have a rule that owners forfeit ownership of their team after ten consecutive losing seasons.
