So Ben's apparently set to retire at the end of this season.

Has anyone thought about Kevin Colbert who said several years ago he would retire when Ben retires!

Does he retire before the 2022 NFL Draft or after that?

Do they promote Omah Khan to Steelers GM to keep him in the organization to prevent other teams from trying to sign him?

Just thinking ahead for our Steelers.

I don't think Khan is the right guy to take over for scouting. He's good with the money but I think they need to look to someone else.

Yeah, Khan is the money guy. I think Brandon Hunt is the scout they want to supercede Colbert, but who knows.

Colbert is signed through the draft. My guess is he doesn't sign a new contract this time and retires. But, he may surprise us and sign another 1-year contract.

In one hand you want the experienced guy (Colbert) here for the draft, on the other hand you want the new guy to draft so as he isn't saddled with exiting guys, guys.

Colbert and Tomlin need go hand in hand, together holding hands right out the hand operated one way door. Of course with their other hand they should be playing their "peter piper flute" to have the entire coaching staff to follow...........................

I’ve always been of the opinion that Kevin worked extremely well with Cowher with both the draft and free agency. I don’t see that magic with Kevin and Tomlin. It’s been ok not terrible but not near as good as Kevin and Cowher. I think he stays until after the 2022 draft then retires with Ben. A successor could be Brandon Hunt.

I don't really understand the contract.
If he is going to leave after the draft, can you really expect Colbert to be fully invested as usual. I know he's a professional and he's been with the team a long time but it's kind of human nature to maybe not go that extra step when evaluating or something of the sort. He's not going to be around to see the players, why would he really care as much as if he were still in the GM role.

He'd like to go out on top and know he picked a homerun?

I’d like to see them clean house after Ben. Kevin Colbert should resign gm, Tomlin kick upstairs to president, no decision making, promote Dan Colbert head of player personnel. That would solve a lot of problems and open the door for some fresh air. We need change!

Yeah, I'm not in favor of just kicking Tomlin to the curb....I think he could be valuable within the organization somewhere. I totally agree on the fresh air.
