I'll still be fuming over it, depending on how much the contract is for.
This is tough, Cam, Tuitt, Watt, Nelson, Minkah are all going to need signed, and they're going to be big deals (Tuitt already has the second highest cap hit on the team). Also JuJu on offense, and the offense needs help too.
That's the issue, Bud and his agent will ask around to see what kind of deal he'd get in Free Agency(I'm sure that's happening now), there's alot of teams with alot of space that can over pay and give a large guarantee to Bud.

Agree, but I think cutting Tuitt so soon might cost us. I'm not 100% sure on that, and a big part of the defense not dropping off was Hargrave actually getting to play, but he's a free agent too.
cutting Tuitt now would be a cap hit of -2.8M, not a savings. It would also leave 17M in dead money. He isn't going anywhere.

That's a great point Bermuda. I like Tuitt, but is he really that critical? Our depth is much better there than at OLB. Add Chickollo to the names of who should be cut, that guy sucks.
There's a reason great players change organizations who want to keep them. Imo Steelers will tag bud.
Barron and Foster are pretty easy cuts roster wise. Though Barron played a lot of snaps those can be eaten up by Bush. You still have to pay a starting TE and a punter and the trend if you watch the remaining games is to have a quality FB. So you can cut all those guys, but you still got to replace them with quality players.
Franchise tag him and be done with the nonsense. No bargaining with other teams. Lets work out a deal with him prior to the deadline and then we can get on with other business. We need to retool this offense for the return of Big Ben
We are not cutting Tuitt to keep Bud. Ain't happening. Hargrave is the odd man out there. Tag Bud with a non-exclusive so we can get at least a 1st round pick if he goes somewhere else. We will be losing him next year anyway. I just see no way in hell we pay Bud $15+ million per and then turn around and pay Watt close to $25 million per. It just isn't possible. Bud might be here on a tag this year but then gone next year.
Still not a fan of cutting Barron. Some fans have a short memory of what the D looked like before Bush and him...

I mean even if you still think bud is a contract year wonder, and I don’t, keeping him means cutting Chick for sure... and since I want a real backup to develop, that is key ...
