EXCELLENT article by Bill, thank you.

Thanks for posting it Coolie, always good reads as this was on front page as well (just a reminder to folks).

Farrior was one of the best FA signings ever. Really liked his play and the fact he contributed to the locker room change.

Holmes claims he was never appreciated in Pitt. He goes to the Stains for only a year, (2002). Seems like a change of scenery didn't work out so well for him.
Read where he phoned several of his former Steeler teammates talking trash.

How sweet it was when his 2002 Stains were swept by his former team, followed by a third loss in the playoffs.

Potsie was a much better fit. loved the guy. had he came to us earlier he would be a hall of fame candidate.

Farrior may not have been drafted by the Steelers, but he was born to play here. Excellent football player and leader and definitely one of the faces of the franchise for this era of Steelers football. One of my favorite players.

He definitely was a solid fit for the scheme. It spearheaded his career in the right direction.

I met him at Wide World of Sports in Orlando. He came across quiet and humble. That impression never left me in regards to how I view him as a man.

One of may all-time favorite Steelers. Really want his autograph on my jersey

First off, this was a really well written and fun article. Second, Potsie was just freaking awesome. Played with a consistency that is hard to find these days. Not many down games for him. Third, and finally, I find it highly interesting how many Steelers stories are out there about the guy that didn't take the contract and the guy that did, and how it ultimately worked out.

Farrier and Arron Smith have that "under-rated" stigma that seems to follow players who do their jobs with-in the defense. VERY consistant, not much injury game loss, character guys and up boost in locker room.

Hopefully this proves true with Trubisky, Mack and Kazee
Trubisky taking off and reaching potential would cause decisions about Pickett, but those are good problems. If that happened with Mitch that would be all that is required. I'm very confident Jack will be very good.

My take on Trubisky which probably is a too early of a take is he will be a QB that the team can win with, but won't be a threat long term to Pickett. My much too early take on Pickett is he will be a a step up from Mitch and a step down from Ben.

I feel like they should know exactly what Pickett is. I'm as confident this team will make the playoffs this year as last which is basically 50/50, but I think their ceiling is higher. As much as I loved Ben he shouldn't have played last year.

In O'Canada's offense.

Yes Ben was not a young in prime BEN but that offensive scheme was terrible and NOT to Ben's stregnths. Who's fault was that ? Ben showed he had the mustard but O'Canada couldn't figure out **** when it came to helping players. The scheme layed and egg and the OC couldn't hatch it into life..............

I get what you are saying but don't blame last year's debacle entirely on Ben.
