The Tampa Bay Lightning signed their star captain to an eight-year deal Wednesday, keeping him off the market two days before free agency begins.

Shea Weber sent to Montreal for P.K. Subban

Shea Weber has been traded to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for P.K. Subban.

Weber had 20 goals and 51 points in 78 games with Nashville last season. He has served as the captain of the Predators for the last six years and just won the 2016 Mark Messier Leadership Award


Taylor Hall has been traded to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson.

Hall recorded 26 goals and 65 points in 82 games last season with Edmonton.

What in Gods name was Edmonton thinking? I know about the salary and all that good stuff, but could you imagine Taylor Hall suiting up for the black and gold with the rest of the talent and speed? For what New Jersey gave up, salary cap notwithstanding, what could JR have given up to acquire him? What a win for the debbils.
