Stan Savran fighting lung cancer..."I will beat this..."

Cancer and it's ugly mug. Best wishes Stan.

Really sorry to hear that....Hang in there Stan!

We've hardly had any steel mills in 35 years.

True but were these giys there in their younger year and residue is still probable there as well. Just saying ?

Salute the nation

Exactly. Which would make the age of the lung cancer victims between 55 and 75. Right on course right?

Probably not. The air has been very clean for 40 years plus a lot of the people who worked in the mills moved away years ago.
They also try to blame the increase in childhood asthma on air pollution. But if the air is as clean as it's ever been and asthma is increasing, then I'd say it's not air pollution that's causing it.

Sorry to hear this about Stush. This sucks!
Come on Stush , you can beat this.

Maybe the way it used to be with pollution and Steel Mills?
Maybe in the past, but now likely its the extremely high smoking rate that drives those numbers up…. In much of the country there aren’t smoking bars anymore.. we still gave them in spades. I remember over a decade ago going to a job that still had a restaurant with a smoking section and the 22 yr old on the crew from out of the state being utterly flummoxed by the concept ….

Ive never smoked in my life but i also have never dated a girl that didn’t… its still a hardcore thing here

The trendy thing to blame is interstate air pollution… not that i buy it..

There have been several attempts by tge EPA to regulate IAP but they don’t ever make it past the courts

The concept is states pollute and it blows into other states… so much of the western pa pollution would get blamed on ohio…

They put all of the ambiant air pollution monitoring directly downwind of major pollution sources so they bias everything real high here.. like two of the three main ones in the area are right by the two surviving coke plants…

And one is on the roof above the garage door of a city bus garage.

Sucks. Lung cancer is a death sentence for chain smokers, and there are a ton of them in broadcasting/radio.

Is it better to only take one hit of THC as opposed to smoking a pack a day? Asking for a friend...

Damn. Hope the guy pulls through. I enjoy watching him Pens pre game.

Lol they never put them in some random field that would give a real idea of how much pollution is Actually permeating the air lol…
That wouldn't support the Liberal narrative.

I was always told that weed was worse for your lungs than tobacco. No filters for one thing.
