TRUMP OPPOSES PRESIDENT OBAMA’S PLAN TO SURRENDER AMERICAN INTERNET CONTROL TO FOREIGN POWERS

"Donald J. Trump is committed to preserving Internet freedom for the American people and citizens all over the world. The U.S. should not turn control of the Internet over to the United Nations and the international community. President Obama intends to do so on his own authority – just 10 days from now, on October 1st, unless Congress acts quickly to stop him. The Republicans in Congress are admirably leading a fight to save the Internet this week, and need all the help the American people can give them to be successful. Hillary Clinton’s Democrats are refusing to protect the American people by not protecting the Internet.

The U.S. created, developed and expanded the Internet across the globe. U.S. oversight has kept the Internet free and open without government censorship – a fundamental American value rooted in our Constitution’s Free Speech clause. Internet freedom is now at risk with the President’s intent to cede control to international interests, including countries like China and Russia, which have a long track record of trying to impose online censorship. Congress needs to act, or Internet freedom will be lost for good, since there will be no way to make it great again once it is lost."

Appreciate @realDonaldTrump’s support of our efforts to keep the internet free:

Gotta get this out there - millenials may split on the vote, but they are united in their addiction to the Internet.

Obama Admin to Surrender US Control of the Internet to Global Bureaucracy

The Obama administration is planning to relinquish American control over a central portion of Internet governance.

The implications of this move range from control by an international bureaucracy to totalitarian regimes locking up entire portions of the Internet, according to experts.

At issue is US control over the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

“ICANN is arguably the single most powerful institution in the world as it relates to the global economy and communication. It has oversight authority over 300 million domain names, which number is increasing every day”, states Internet pioneer, Jeff Baron.

The fact that so few are talking about this, that there is little outrage, unnerves me to no end. Like the Colts moving under the cover of night to Indianapolis, 80% of us probably aren't even aware that Bammy's throwing away their Free Speech in a major way.

Of course the media isn't going to cover it, you think Shrillary will get any millennial votes if they find out she's behind giving away their only reason for existence? Without the internet, they would have to actually talk to people and stuff.

States Sue Obama Administration in Last-Ditch Effort to Stop US From Giving Up Control of Internet

Attorneys general from Nevada, Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma are suing the Obama administration in a last-ditch effort to stop the U.S. from giving up control of the internet’s domain name system.

“Trusting authoritarian regimes to ensure the continued freedom of the internet is lunacy,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement. “The president does not have the authority to simply give away America’s pioneering role in ensuring that the internet remains a place where free expression can flourish.”

My white privilege prevents me from comment.

I fully agree with not turning over internet control to the UN. Zero censorship might not be prudent but political propaganda control is also not wise

How does this stuff happen without Congress? I bet when Trump is President that Congress will be closely involved in everything.

Time's up...

Paxton Loses Last-Minute Bid to Stop Federal Internet Transition

Attorney General Ken Paxton on Friday lost his last-minute bid for a court injunction to prevent the federal government from transferring its oversight of internet registrations to an international body.

Hours before the transition was set to take effect, a federal judge in Galveston ruled against Paxton and three other state attorneys general who had asked him to temporarily halt the transfer while they pursue a lawsuit challenging it. The four sued the federal government late Wednesday after Republicans in Congress, led by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, failed to halt the transfer.

At midnight Friday, the United States is set to cede control of the internet's domain system — essentially its address book — to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
