The twin brother of current Pittsburgh Steelers player, Carlos Davis, Khalil Davis has joined the team’s practice squad. The former defensive end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was released and at that time, the Steelers put in a waiver claim for the defensive lineman. At that same time, the Indianapolis Colts put in a waiver claim and ultimately were able to land Davis before the Steelers.
On Saturday, the Colts released Davis who has since been picked up by the Steelers.
The Steelers currently have a full practice squad and in order to make space, will need to release a practice squad player.
In other news, this will now be the third set of brothers on the Steelers. Along with the Davis brothers, there is also TJ and Derek Watt, and Terrell and Trey Edmunds.
As the season springs forward and with the trade of Melvin Ingram, the Steelers need more players to possibly fill the pass-rusher role on the defensive side off the ball. Maybe this Davis brother will be able to get some playing time and help the Steelers continue their stretch of winning games.
How many snaps or how much playing time do you think Davis will get this season? Will the Steelers add another set of brothers before the end of the season? Let me know in the comments below!
