One of the Pittsburgh Steelers' biggest flaws during the 2022 season was their cornerbacks. The group was led by the likes of Cameron Sutton and Ahkello Witherspoon. Both of them are not with the Steelers anymore. With that, this offseason, the team decided to revamp the position. The first big name they decided to bring in was future Hall of Famer, Patrick Peterson. Although he is 32 years old, his play is still at an all-time high. In 2022, he was able to record his career-high 66 total tackles in the season, as well as gaining five interceptions. But he was mainly brought into the organization to be a mentor to the two new draft picks the Steelers selected.

Why would they even consider trading Wallace when Porter and Trice haven't put on pads yet . Even if the two rookies splash during preseason there's 17 games to show consistency and the ability to stay semi healthy and Peterson is far from playing at an all time high.

100% agree

Wallace won't get moved. Peterson is likely going to be in Sutton's role, playing multiple positions and they aren't going to go thin at the position after releasing Witherspoon.

non-story. none of our CBs should get traded.
to think they'd trade Trice after he was opening eyes in OTAs is wild. Much rather see what we have in the guy than to trade him for anything and have him go on to have a stellar career.

It’s mostly wallace they are trying to push as a trade deal… that would leave pierre and two rookies as the outside guys with peterson able to do both…

So you’d have a part time outside guy, a guy with six total starts under his belt, and two rookies outside…

Remember, both ilbs and a S are going to be new starters… and possibly the NT.. as well as tge slot cb and 1 outside cb… how much more turnover do you really want? Its very possible that so much change will cause lots of blown assignments early in the year as is…

If they were to keep Trice, it would either be at the expense of Pierre or maybe Norwood… if he was great on STs he could displace Killibrew… but Wallace? Nah that 4 million saved isn’t worth losing any more system experience

Rions already got one CB from the Steelers. The odds of the Steelers trading them a 2nd CB are asymtotic to zero

More than likely you are right (but I won’t admit that in public).

My true worry is Coooch, he has been known to poach a player not on the roster and trade him for two firsts. With Coooch’s vast in-depth knowledge of football and his STEELERS prowess, I’m afraid when Gunner gets cut, he might fall victim to the trade……………. After the trade deadline of course.
