Steelers Elevate a WR and LB from Practice Squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers elevated wide receiver Cody White and linebacker Derrek Tuszka to the Active/Inactive roster from the practice squad, it was announced today.

White and Tuszka will help replace receive Diontae Johnson, and linebackers TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith who will all miss Sunday’s game.






Tuszka, 24, was as seventh-round pick of the Denver Broncos in the 2020 NFL Draft. He recorded 7 tackles in Week 17 for the Broncos.

White, 22, racked up seven receptions for 46 yards in his two preseason outing this season. He spent all of last season on the Steelers practice squad.

Yes you can either activate two guys off the practice squad without them passing through waivers or dress two more from the 53 man roster… or a combination of those two…

So now we have 4 out of 5 wrs that really are contested catch types rather than fast breakaway speed or quick route guys….

I was wondering the same thing. I wanted to see him lay a Crunchwrap supreme on Burrow.

I guess it won’t be racist to yell “throw it to the White kid” today…
