MVP: Chris Boswell - The most dependable and consistent player on the team. He won multiple games for the Steelers and player on the team continues to produce and come up big in big moments. He scored 158 of the Steelers 380 points (41.6%).
Offensive Player of the Year: Pat Freiermuth - This was hard. No one stood out. Other than his huge drop on Saturday, Freiermuth delivered all year. He caught over 83% of his targets and will likely finish in the top 10 of TE reception leaders. Led all skill position players with 7 TDs
Defensive Player of the Year: Cam Heyward -A very impressive year, he got it done against the run and pass. He was just as good as his top seasons with 71 tackles, 8 sacks, and an extremely impressive 11 batted passes...I think he had three alone last night.
Rookie of the Year: Zach Frazier - Frazier solidified the center of the offensive line and probably asserted himself in the top 10 centers in the NFL already.
Biggest Surprise: DeShon Elliott - Finished 2nd on the team with 108 tackles and led the defense with 73 solo stops. Had another 6 PDs and 1 INT along with 2 FF and 3 FRs. Just an all-around impressive year.
Coach of the Year: Danny Smith - By the end of the season this is given to Smith by default. The special teams played well all year. My only gripe is we allowed teams to return the ball too often and we saw some big returns last night, but they came up with a huge fumble recovery on a punt. Shout out to Mark Robinson who is becoming quite the special teams ace.
