Pittsburgh Steelers fans are ecstatic about the team's potential for the 2023 season. After a fun-filled offseason led by General Manager Omar Khan, the roster seems to be in a much better spot. As we are just a few months away from the regular season, one major concern remains. That is, Matt Canada is still the team's offensive coordinator, as he enters his third season in the position.

Canada sucks. But the Canada quote in the article isn't nearly as scandalous as the headline makes it out to be.

We don't need a revealing fact to be displeased with Canada, we have that already covered with his whole body of work. Which has been the substandard standard.

*throws flag*
Unsportsmanlike conduct - failing to fire Canada. Many moments of pain will be enforced from the start of the season.

Fair read and some points made.

1). O’Canada will NOT be fired mid-season. That is not going to happen.

2). It seems there is a built in excuse already for up-coming season.

3). Keeping O’Canada for “continuity” sake is a bad decision all the way around. O’Canada’s system is holding back QB Developement. With those short pass plays and jet sweeps, it lets the QB get lazy in reads.

4). I’m a wait and see as well, even just a little O’Canada improvement could pay dividends galore.

5). 23rd offense should be an easy to improve, yet just a little improvement might cement “Matt” here forever.

I hope Canada and his offense improves. They already have his understudy on staff. If things go as we've seen, Canada will not be renewed and understudy will take the spot. All under the firm grip of Tomlin.

Will Kenny ever be permitted to change a play at the line of scrimmage? Too many pimps and not enough hookers.

It took until week 5 before O’Canada allowed a 1st Ballot HOFer to actually audible, so could be hard to say for the FIGHTING Pickett.

No changes to the O. Canaduh doesn't game plan and doesn't make adjustments during the game. So, we need to hope what we had improves significantly keeping in mind he removed the no-huddle offense when Ben was here, we rarely throw to the middle of the field, KP is NOT allowed to audible, and the list goes on. I sure hope he is bluffing.

Kind of l;Ike the “Dead Man’s Hand”, aces and eights………………… ?

My biggest fear is the proving of Matt Canada’s ineptitude.

When you have a 3.8 ypc stud you stick with what doesn't work.
They gameplan like they have Nick Chubb?
They should bring in a guy like Dalvin Cook if thats the plan??

The Rooneys themselves should have Canada on a short leash. It's their team and their money. If this offense is stagnant and doesn't click MC has to go....even if MT were to object. Even if his replacement were to fail, they can still tell the fans they tried....and will work to hire someone better.

I'm ok if we pound the ball as long as we run play action off of it. There has to be imagination. I think our defense is going to be high pressure, high tempo. If we can keep them fresh with long drives we should be fine.

At least I hope this will be the case. The more likely scenario is I'll be screaming for Canada's head along with everyone else by the end of September 😁.

it would be awfully difficult to provide more proof than last year, but if Canada & Tomlin start Jones at LT then my biggest fear is that Pickett will sustain several more concussions and provide that proof.

And i see no evidence that Canada would call plays that mitigate this risk. He didn't when Moore looked shaky in past seasons.

i would hate to see Pickett have to retire because of 4-5 concussions in a little more than 1 calendar year.

Ya, like Najee is the problem. Come on man! Canaduh and having the worst OL in the NFL were the problem the last 2 years. Najee was a beast as a rookie and wore a steel plate in his shoe for half the season last year but he's the problem.

I’ve already started…… should be fine tuned by the first game…………..

I hear what you are saying steellreeling, but I see rookie Jones as an up-grade over seasoned Moore. Time will tell but either way I do hope the best player is on the field of play.

He was 3.8 ypc as a rookie
Same line same canada how did Warren manage 4.9 ypc behind "the worst line in the league"?

That’d be a drastic change as the Steelers were one of the lowest play action teams last season.

He was injured with a steel plate in his shoe for over half the year. Warren also ran completely different types of runs. Najee is the lead back and Warren will get some runs but he was not typically running up the middle on 1st down with 9 in the box as Najee did on most of his runs. Najee almost always had 2 or 3 guys in the back field to greet him immediately when the ball was handed off to him. You must not have watched many games or you somehow missed those countless plays.
