The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t leaving any stone unturned when it comes to the search for their next General Manager. Today they announced that they completed interviews with three more candidates.

We interviewed the following candidates for our General Manager position this week:
• Jerry Reese
• Rick Spielman
• Doug Whaley

Jerry Reese – Reese has been out of the NFL since he was fired by the New York Giants following the 2017 season. Reese spent 23 years with the Giants working as a scout, personnel director, and finally General Manager for his last ten years with the team.

Rick Spielman – Spielman was the General Manager of the Minnesota Vikings for the last ten seasons before being fired this off-season. Spielman joined the Vikings as Vice President of Player Personnel on May 30, 2006 and directed scouting, free agency and draft preparations for the club before taking on General Manager duties for 2012.

Doug Whaley – Whaley is currently working for the XFL as Senior Vice President of Personnel. Whaley worked at the Buffalo Bills for seven years, most recently serving as General Manager from 2013 to 2017. He was hired in 2010 as Assistant General Manager and Pro Personnel Director before being promoted to Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel in 2011.

The Steelers are expected to announce a new General Manager following the 2022 NFL Draft.

They must've interviewed these guys to see what they DON'T want in a GM. No way any of them are serious candidates....

Well. If somehow the Steelers have great success with the player movements this off season it will be always be known as what KC built. New guy will never get any credit. I just don’t get why new guy wasn’t hired already.
