The Pittsburgh Steelers could be getting back some help on the offensive line this week. But it didn’t come without losing another member of the offensive line for possibly the rest of the season.

Utility lineman JC Hassenauer practiced today for the Steelers. That begins his 21 day clock to return to the lineup. Coach Mike Tomlin said yesterday that he was optimistic about the chance of Hassenauer returning this week. The team will have until 4pm on Saturday to activate him to the active roster.

The bad news is that fellow utility man BJ Finney was placed on injured reserve. He will now miss the remainder of the season and likely will have played his last game for the Steelers. His only chance of returning would be in the playoffs, but the Steelers currently are outside of that window.

Finney joins fellow guard Kevin Dotson on injured reserve. Dotson of course is dealing with a high ankle sprain.

Undrafted free agent John Leglue stands to make his second career start at left guard on Sunday.
