The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a few roster moves ahead of their Thursday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings:

We have made the following roster moves:
• Signed P Drue Chrisman & LS Rex Sunahara to the practice squad
• Terminated DB Linden Stephens & WR Tyler Vaughns from the practice squad

They have signed punter Drue Chrisman and long snapper Rex Sunahara to the practice squad. They have subsequently released defensive back Linden Stephens and wide receiver Tyler Vaughns after the signings.

The team traveled to Minnesota today for the game tomorrow night against the Vikings. They will look to make it two wins in a row and try to stay alive in the very tight playoff race in the AFC and even potentially the AFC North title.

Interesting that a punter was signed. Maybe trying to put a fire under the standing punter?

I suggest we sign a head coach to the practice squad. Just sayin'.

Also interesting that a long snapper was signed. I read somewhere, may even have been a post on here, that the current punter's issues may have a bit to do with the long snapper getting the ball to him too low.

With them also getting a LS, I'm thinking this is because of their recent Covid outbreak more than anything. They should probably look for a K as well just in case.

Really? Haven't noticed that, but I'm also not looking very closely either. I would think if that were the case, it'd be more of an issue of the P getting the ball off quick enough than the way he's actually punting it - but I'm sure it doesn't help.

Hadn't noticed or paid attention to it myself. But, I read it somewhere (can't remember where) and the fact that they signed a long snapper lends some validity to the opinion of whomever it was that noticed it. Seems like they believe the issue is possibly two-fold.

I was noticing that the other night vs The Rats. There were several snaps where Harvin and to grab about knee height. He then hurried himself to get them off. Now his beauty that put it just on the 1, it was snapped waist high and he was able to plant properly

Said to be all Covid related, to have back up plan? Crazy, since when did I do that

Also a STs coach, could use one that's brain healthy.

MOST certainly makes a difference. When you have to bend down you take your eyes of the rush and have to focus on the catching of the ball then refocus while uprighting to prepare to kick. It messes up timing and placement because of way less time to identify the rush. It really puts you in a "rushed" punting mode, kind of like punting out of the back of the endzone with little space.

Had the CBS cameraman not shown the punting sequence during play I wouldn’t have noticed it. If someone still has the game on DVR check it out. It was on them for several punts. That beauty was just waist high just to the outside left where he didn’t really need to readjust his motion/timing. Just like a quarterback when the snap is off in shotgun. That precious second to get your mechanics right is critical. We all seen Green hurrying Rudy and Bens motion with high/low snaps

Don't forget an OC and QB.....
