The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the model of consistency during the entirety of Mike Tomlin's tenure with the team. Over the course of his 16 years as Head Coach, he has never had a losing season and has guided the Steelers to seven AFC North titles. Often described as a "players coach," Tomlin possesses a unique personality which has been front and center during his time in Pittsburgh. There is no denying that he is one of the most well-respected men in the entire league who has done an outstanding job maintaining the standard that comes along with being the Head Coach of the Steelers.

Good read, take the time to read it……

I’m in the boat of “put up or shut up”. Coach Tomlin has had every excuse in the book to be used.

So much has improved on this roster / players / that NO excuse should exonerate him of failure, should it occur.

The single biggest question mark is OC. There is NOT a single team in the NFL that would have him on their roster yet alone for season 3.

NOW if for some chance the Coaching staff can improve just enough, the talent possessed by the players can carry them home with a Lombardi in tow………………………..

Never had a losing season…..

When he should be talking about only having 3 playoff wins in 12 years and he should be pissed off.

Tomlin is a nice guy, but his “standard” sucks.

No active coach anywhere ever says what they intend to do after leaving their position… even when they are already negotiating with someone, lol… getting denials about this kind of stuff is really worthless… it is no different than hearing an owner or GM say that the coach’s job is safe a game or two before unceremoniously dumping him…

Lol

Yes SIR, the “check” is in the mail…………………….

I have little doubt multiple networks will want Tomlin in studio after he retires. I have no idea if he'd be excellent or awful. He would certainly provide great sound bytes, but he also says a lot without saying anything at all.

Yep.. every year some coach is asked about some better college gig or a GM spot elsewhere or something and they basically flat out deny tgey are ever going to leave for anything at all, then shortly thereafter they are tendering their resignation and taking that gig they weren’t interested in a few moments before.. lol

Any such denials are worth as much as a crisp new 200 dollar bill…

This year is the no excuse year. Everything is Tomlins doing. Everything on Offense is Canadas and Defense should be on Austin. If there is failure, there should be change.

Doesn’t matter what we all say here. Tomlin is here as long as he wants to be here. All that matters is what Art thinks and we all know his feelings toward Tomlin.
I absolutely do not like any part of this coaching staff he’s assembled, the OC, DC are not good. I would have replaced Canada and would haves kept Flores over Austin.
Don’t like ST coach and most of the position coaches. Meyer has done a decent job as OL coach.
I think this will be another season of mediocrity, nothing special, may win a game or two unexpected but as usual will lose games they should win.
They seem to lag behind the big boys in the AFC.
If they come out and try to win with a grind it out running game it won’t work against these high flying teams. They are all lighting up the scoreboard playing pinball while we May me prodding along playing bocci ball. Steelers need to adapt to the present game being played.
