The Pittsburgh Steelers finally made a wide receiver trade after months of trying to acquire one. On Tuesday afternoon, the Steelers traded a fifth-round pick to the New York Jets in exchange for wide receiver Mike Williams. Williams has been linked to the Steelers in recent weeks, but nothing came to fruition until Tuesday a few hours before the trade deadline. Receivers like Darius Slayton and Adam Thielen were circulating around the Steelers, but no deals could be agreed on. The Steelers will also take on Williams' salary for the rest of the season and will become a free agent in 2025.

**** Rodgers!!!!!

Mike Williams is supposed to be this HUGE signing by the Steelers at WR? Are you kidding me? The guy sucks. Last 5 games, 4 rec, 46 yds, zero TDs We only had to hear about the great WR for about 6 months for this?, we got a real storm trooper on our team. Thanks Kahn.

I see it more as a rotational depth improvement to the WR group and a much needed veteran presence there

As usual, your delusions precede rational thought.

Mike Williams has never been billed as this HUGE wr signing, not taking anything away from Mr. Williams.

It has been shown Williams stats and the dependency on a not so good Rodgers and ball targets.

No one is expecting Williams to come in here and be world beater, but he does elevate the WR room and the price is on pace for value received.

I for one, WELCOME the addition and what ever it is he can contribute.

Salute the nation

Sorry meant Williams not you. 😉

How and what is your take on the Mike Williams signing............................ ?

He should be a decent 50/50 ball capable and a red zone option. I think that with some time removed the effects on his injury should diminish. Or that is the hope. Might be what they are hoping too.

Hopefully he’s just an insurance policy for a deep playoff run, that’s about the only level the move makes sense to me. Would’ve preferred a free PS squad player to compete for WR4 but who knows

Maybe he still has a gallon or two left in the tank, can only hope so now.

But we've been told for months and months that a "huge playmaker" was going to be added. What happened to that claim? We've been harped on since before the season even began that a "huge upgrade" was going to happen, and then Mike Williams was added? Gee whiz Kahn, some "huge playmaker" there.

I said in another thread I wasn't a fan of Williams, but he provides more depth. If Pickens goes down we will be better off with Williams than without. Pickens can play wherever, CAIII can be the deep threat so that leaves Jefferson and Williams for the rest. I don't think we are too bad off receiver wise especially if you count in Muth and Washington.

Was Omar Kahn the guy telling everyone that the Steelers were going to add a huge playmaker? Or was it media saps speculating? Pretty sure it was the latter. Perhaps you should point your anger at them.

You lack the ability to read between the lines. OK. Chalk one up for the gullible Garys. Ok.

Who "told" us that? Did Kahn tell you that? Was it Tomlin?

No offense to Brooke writing for this wonderful website but that us a ridiculous headline. Listen to the interview. He said he is a good guy and it's hard to come back from an ACL. If you think that is amazing praise.....I really don't know what to say.

Besides the fact that Rodgers wouldn't let a valuable WR be traded away. Common sense

The writers love them some lure people in headlines.😅

He has never let a valuable receiver get traded away?

Hint hint Adams was traded when Rodgers was the GB QB.

That was one of many reasons Rodgers and GB parted ways. Besides that the Jets just went and got Adams and fired the coach that didn't see eye to eye with him. Rodgers was obviously not happy with his wr options. Not that hard to read between the lines.

IT'S WHAT I THOUGHT BEFORE BOTHERING TO READ IT: overhyped nonsense with little value.

I watch Rogers every week on the McAfee show and he only cares about saving his own azz and face. Sooooo many excuses… and he is a great double talker.

The bottom line is in the early games in the season. ROGERS looked pathetic and like an old man throwing Williams the ball.

I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES
