The Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t renew the contract of offensive line coach Shaun Sarrett following the 2020 season. They decided to promote his assistant Adrian Klemm to the role, looking for major improvement.

The return hasn’t exactly shown up on the field. Klemm and the returning offensive linemen were very vocal about a culture change, and getting more physical. It just hasn’t happened. Ben Roethlisberger has taken hits all season long, and the running lines have been scarce for Najee Harris.

Now reports this morning from ESPN claim they Klemm is the front runner to join the University of Oregon as their offensive line coach. He is originally from California.

Sources: #Oregon is targeting #Steelers offensive line coach Adrian Klemm for the same role under new coach Dan Lanning. The Steelers still have at least 3 games left, so no deal is set yet. Klemm has been with Steelers since 2019. He last coached in college with #UCLA in 2016.

It’s a move that can’t come until the end of the season, but it’s an interesting idea that Klemm would want to leave the pros for college.

Should Klemm leave town that would open the offensive line coach position again for the third time in four years.

It’s hard to judge Klemm on this seasons results because of the talent level he’s working with. This isn’t the same line that had a pedigree of mostly first and second round picks. It’s a collaboration of middle round rookies with one declining veteran thrown in.

If only the Steelers could luck into Mike Munchak again. They haven’t been the same since he left town for Denver.

It was said in camp about the change in coaching to being nasty and aggressive. However, any position coach can only coach within the coordinator and head coaches scheme and game plan.

GOOD ******* RIDDANCE! Adrian Klemm is a ******* terrible O-line Coach. Zero improvement in 15 weeks from our starting O-line. They still can't run block or pass block....the same as they were week 1. PLEASE GOD GIVE US A REAL O-LINE COACH!

Can we offer a package deal with Canada and Butler?
There was an off record comment that Butler will retire after this year. (Teryl Austin or Jerry Oslavsky replacing him. However since Coach O lost his wife unexpectedly a month or so ago, he could take a year off).

Munch is coming to his 28th year in coaching, along with his 12 years playing….that’s 40 years in the bigs.Hey May retire as well.

Why? Why would Oregon " target Adrian Klemm? 32 teams in NFL,. Many better offensive lines.

So seriously , were all laughing at this,. So why?
He was an OL coach at UCLA so he has PAC-12 experience and probably good connections for recruiting on the West Coast.

If Klemm leaves, it's because the Steelers don't want him back. It'd probably be an ideal situation for both sides.

I have a large bag and Xmas paper, and tape. Oh and a to and a from gift tag, send that ****** now.

wow a shot at Tomlim, how ******* original of you
Was it a good hire genius ? He has been awful wherever he has coached , was a coach under a failed OLine coach here and Tomlin stupidly hires him Tomlin has never hired a good coach outside of Munchak at any level.

I don't know. but I just have this feeling that they're going to clean house with the coaching staff.
Unless it includes Tomlin it is rearranging chairs on the Titanic. When you have a stupid head coach the rest is all window dressing .
