The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a couple of moves this afternoon. First they re-signed special teams ace Miles Killebrew, and now they’ve officially brought back quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
Haskins was a restricted free agent, and wouldn’t of been able to sign elsewhere unless the Steelers didn’t offer him a tender. With Haskin’s already being a former first round pick the Steelers only needed to use the original round tender on Haskins. Restricted free agent tenders have different scales of pay, and compensation return if that player would choose to listen to another teams offer and ultimately sign with another team. In this scenario the Steelers only have to pay the bottom amount and would be awarded a 1st round draft pick in return if Haskin’s was signed away by another team and the Steelers didn’t want to match the offer.
The original round tender will be worth 2.54m according to reports.

The #Steelers are using an original-round tender on RFA QB Dwayne Haskins, per source. He’ll earn $2.54M on the tender in 2022.
