Awesome! While it will be somber this weekend, it will be a celebration as well not only for the 50 year Anni, but for Franco as well. An ambassador for the franchise, the sport and most importantly just being a good man.Don't want to post the link, but it's cool. Not sure why it's not that way all the time.
Throwback stuff is just the coolest possible.

I like the obstacle of the goal post's position back then. I wonder how many passes into the endzone were deflected or guys getting clocked running into the endzone. Here you go. My bet is that the goal posts will be at the rear of the end zone still.

There was a dude on the lion iirc who would run full speed at the goalpost then reach out, grab it and swing around it and come flying back around so no db could cover itI like the obstacle of the goal post's position back then. Remember those retractable sections and how they would bounce around when folks got amped up?
Is that 3 Rivers or Forbes Field? I dont think 3 Rivers had the green, did it?Here you go. My bet is that the goal posts will be at the rear of the end zone still.

It looks like the moment of the Immaculate Reception to me.Is that 3 Rivers or Forbes Field? I dont think 3 Rivers had the green, did it?
So hold off for a while then? The field is at its best with the end zones painted gold. I understand why the Steelers don't do it during the regular season, but they always should during the playoffs or even when Pitt is finished. It's not like there is a lot of wear and tear in the end zone either. The old school jerseys and field are going to look great on Saturday night.
So is Warren going to show up with goldfish in his shoes?
I wonder if attendance will go up now with Franco's passing. The cold will be brutal from what I've heard.
I'm from Wyoming. I'll wear shorts.Well if you're a native of Pennsylvania you will have the proper clothing and you'll be fine. Just don't go play in the snow and get it wet.
If you're coming from out of town in a warmer climate. You had better wear twice as much as you think you'll need. Double up everything.
They are allowing Thermal Blankets, electric and non electric tomorrow evening.Well if you're a native of Pennsylvania you will have the proper clothing and you'll be fine. Just don't go play in the snow and get it wet.

agreed. back in the late 90's, when the steelers went back to the gold end zones in TRS, the steelers had the best looking astroturf field in the league, simply because of the end zones.Awesome! As for why they don’t paint the end zones that way anymore, first it’s because of Pitt. Second, since they play on natural grass, it’s said that the medium they use to paint the grass or sod isn’t the best thing for it. But I always thought TRS looked fantastic with the gold end-zones.
