Steelers sign Boykin

Makes sense and if pressed into WR, he's familiar with Canada's complex schemes.
He was thinking of making up a new one but he was going to draw it up with brown crayon. Unfortunately he digested it by accident. He only meant to eat the blue and red crayon. Accidents happen...

He's also our backup Z behind GP, so good depth and ST signing.

Meh I would have waited until after the draft… he is basically just a special teams gunner for us… we really don’t target him as a wr

I mean he was on a list of guys I thought they might bring back depending on how the draft went… now i am a little worried that they really are going to trade a lot to move up

No ****, can’t have enough WRs that can play that “complex” receiving game.

Couldn’t imagine having to find someone qualified mid-season.

Good sign they have three. CA2 makes four and Boykin 5. They probably add a receiver but doesn't have to be a premium pick.

could meen no wr till rnd 5 likely and if any rnd 7

I doubt he will fall to pick 120, but if Mingo is there, I'm taking him. I doubt we take anyone sooner than that but you can never count out the Steelers taking a skill player they love just about anywhere in the draft.

No round 5 pick for the Steelers...for now...
If they don't trade up and spend a pick that way, the third and 4th rounds would be good for wr. Hell if it's the 4th I could even live with Coolies Houston llightweight. If they do move up they need skip wr this year.

If you put Devin, Nate and Miles in a room what do you get?

Boykin Herbig Bush

With BUSH being “shaved” from the team, this type of humor will be lost ………

We do have Kuntz for another year though………

^^^this^^^

He wasn’t getting picked up anywhere else. I too, would have waited.

At least now we are not on the hook of a HIGH draft pick for ST’s ACE.

I can't see how signing Boykin eliminates the WR position for the draft. If the BPA is a WR, you grab him to bolster that area. As of now, the proven receivers we have is Pickens, DJ and Robinson. Saying that, besides Pickens, we don't really have another stud until DJ can be THE guy. Austin, who knows what we have with him.

Kahn must read our posts. I mentioned this back in the Robinson trade thread I would resign Boykin as a solid number 4. He is big and and a very descent route runner with good hands, plus he was a good role player on special teams. He is a good value signing.

Mingo has got to be the most popular fan pick of wr’s.
So many fans from other teams all mention how they want Mingo In the 4th as their pick.
Shall be interesting to see how he turns out.
