I remember this kid in the draft couple of years ago.. all kinds of height, weight, speed measurables. Hope he sticks.

excellent pickup

he was obviously not used correctly with the raiders or cowboys

The draft write-ups all emphasized he'll need some time to develop. Perhaps the Steelers will be thanking the Raiders & Cowboys for doing so on their dime. And now, Johnson turns into the player they projected him to be. Ah, love being a Steelers homer, lol.

Reminds me of Ike Taylor 2.0. Similar size, speed etc. but raw. If it finally clicks, could get interesting.

I'm always for bringing in someone they feel can better the team. I hope if he is that guy that they can identify him quickly and he makes an impact. We need help in the CB position and can always use DB help.

Ok Coolie…. You’re our resident Houston insider. Give us your best non cooch assessment. Is this guys head measurements within our acceptable range 😉? In all seriousness, what’s your breakdown of this guy?

To add: his draft measurables are outstanding. Why isn’t he sticking on the two opportunities so far? That size with a 4.40 speed has me intrigued.

I've had a few drinks since then but he was one of the guys I was pimping that year

he is fast, found my post during his Senior Bowl practices..pretty sure he ran a 4.40 in the 40, tall, fast, but raw since he only played the position 2 years.

of course I also found his highlights. He is beat a few times but his speed makes up for it

I've seen every down he played at UH. His name is Isaiah Johnson, converted WR, played two years at CB. Measured 6'2" 203#s with 3 5/8 inch arms. Not sure of his 40 speed, but the next gen stats at Senior Bowl practice had him as the fastest on the South squad at 21.7 mph. My guess is he will run the 40 in the low 4.4s.

The kid is tall and fast, but still raw in his technique. I'm not a great judge of skills, but from what I've seen he has smooth hips but his footwork needs to be coached up. Reports are he had some good practices this week at the Senior Bowl. He is a decent tackler but could be more aggressive making contact.

Going in to the Senior Bowl I figured he was a 5th or 6th round option. But with his size and speed and if he shows well tomorrow in the Senior Bowl, maybe he moves up to a second day choice....

The 2019 fourth-round draft pick — who Raiders’ coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock were extremely high on — had his one highlight with the franchise that day when he broke up two plays in the end zone to secure a victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. It was a heroic effort.

................................Johnson, who is 6’2, 210 pounds just like the Raiders want in their cornerbacks, but he couldn’t stay healthy. He missed 11 games as a rookie and he was hurt most of this offseason and training camp.

In the end, it was a numbers game for Johnson. There just wasn’t enough room for him in a crowded cornerback room.

This guy just needs some experience. Coach him up while on the practice squad the rest of this year and a full TC for next, hell he might make the 53 and I truly hope so. Might be a PS depth next season.

Again, you cn't find diamonds if you aren't looking.

Tomlin likes Johnsons, so this guy's got a career here until he retires.

Ike was considerably faster. Also when Ike transitioned to corner he had a brief period where he shut down some WRs. Johnson is more of a taller raw playmaker. Not sure if he has shown any shutdown ability. Anywho still worth a look-see.😉

Eh, Ike didn't attend the combine and they never verified that crazy quick time he ran at his pro day. And they were both taken in the 4th round, he's Ike 2.0! :D

Convert him to MLB with his size and speed maybe he can cover TEs...it’s not like we ask our MLBs to tackle or have a gap assignment so he should be good

Definately !!

It was IKE Island for a few seasons. He was under-rated at tiems but he definately shut down some big name receivers
