I really think he is just an extra body for camp. They will look hard at RBs after the cuts to 53.
 
He hasn't played much. I think this is just another camp body. I'd like to see one of the UDFA's show something and be the No. 2 or No. 3 guy. Someone has to bump Snell out of the No. 2 spot and McFarland has shown absolutely nothing so far. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if neither of them are on the team but my guess is Snell stays even if he falls to the No. 3 guy.

Let's get on the field and see what transpires. I'm not sure I like a RB with known vision and ball security issues...
 
More arrogance and stubbornness from the FO and Tomlin, a decent backup would not be expensive either thru free agency or late in the draft. Tomlin just insists on running the wheels off RB1 and almost every year RB1 is dinged at the end of the season and some scrub is playing
 
That’s Cool Shades thing. Run the wheels off your starting RB. Did it with ever starter he’s had. Don’t agree with this method at all. Ages these RBs way too quickly.
 
start using Mcfarland like how players like Bush, Woodhead, Bell Eckler are or were used out of the gun, the kid is really fasy get hikm to run some slants from the slot or simple trangle or wheel routes

McFarland can't see and he trips over his own feet. Has he even had one run over 10 yards???
 
I had high hopes for McFarland but he's shown absolutely nothing since we drafted him. I'd seriously look to try and keep the fast UDFA RB they picked up over McFarland. I also hope someone beats out Snell for the No. 2 RB and even bounces him off the team as well. But, I think no matter what, Snell sticks for one more year.

Hey we all know this signing is the next to last last piece in the puzzle for #7. Unfortunately the last piece is probably stuck somewhere in the SN couch downstairs in the SN basement, but I'm relaxed.... Damnit!
