Entering the 2023 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers still haven’t found an ideal replacement for former cornerback, Mike Hilton. It has been two full seasons since the Steelers had Hilton on their roster and yet the hole he left on the Steelers defense has never felt bigger.

Meh Hilton had his troubles in coverage he wasn't some elite slot corner. And they really haven't been aggressive with the position. I would like them to bring in a Maulet replacement but there is options on the roster.

The Steelers now have - count 'em - FOUR tall, fast, productive or promising boundary CB's: Patrick Peterson, Joey Porter, Jr., Corey Trice and the very disrespected yet successful James Pierre. They also have a very good coverage S/slot CB/S hybrid in Demontae Kazee, who has 14 career interceptions and 19 PD.

And you're telling me that replacing Arthur Maulet and Cam Sutton is going to be a problem? Not buying it.

I think just what you state here is the reason the “MASSIVE MAN-hunt” has been delayed.

We have better talent replacement than what Maulet brought to the table. He asked for more money with a possibility of walking, he got the W-A-L-K part of the conversation.

Problem is Kaz can't play slot corner and SS at the same time. Then if Minkah goes down and Kaz has to cover FS that is when the real problems set in. So yeah not the biggest problem but there is some concern there.

I believe Steelers are going to have Keanu Neal play SS, freeing Kazee to play slot. I like that alignment a lot.

No doubt but then again, if Minkah goes down, the team is in trouble in general. He is an All-Pro, a game changer. Fortunately for the Steelers, they have several players who fit that description - Minkah, TJ, Pickett.

Look at it this way - how good is KC if Mahomes goes down?

Mike Hilton was rated a top twenty five corner his second to last year here, and even his last year he was a quality impact slot guy… people underselling him neglect what he did up in cinci when he left here…

Slot corner is just a low priority on most teams… these guys don’t get the big bucks and their stats often are hurt by the quick passes against zones designed to allow a catch and quick tackle .

There is a reason guys like sutton wanted to move outside before ufa…

Hey don't forget Levi Wallace, he just had 4 ints. Our best CB in at least a decade, probably more, had ONE season with 4 or more Ints
Haden: 5 Int in 1 season but 10 total Int in 4 seasons
Brace yourself, it gets ugly, fast:
Gay: 7 int in 4 seasons (2nd stint with the team)
Cortez Allen: 6 int in 3 seasons
Nelson: 3 int in 2 seasons
Artie Burns: 3 int his rookie season, then broke down

Yeah, Wallace is another legit CB.

And obviously TD means interceptions in your post.
