Steelers to Wear Throwback Block Number Jerseys on Saturday

I wouldn't call last week in Vegas the immaculate interception, but it was certainly one of the stranger plays I've seen in my 40 some years of football life.

Between the weather and being on Christmas Eve...we will probably see alot of yellow...

Its too bad because of the celebration and also number 32 being retired...
 
Was never a fan of the block numbers, but I understand the nostalgia.
 
Up until the mid 90s or so, I think every team used block numbers with the exception of the Bears.

so all those seasons prior to 1997, you sat and watched and said to yourself, "if only they had a different font on the numbers of their jerseys!.."..?? i mean, block numbers have pretty much been the de facto font from the get-go.

You’re right, I could have worded that better. What I was trying to say is that I am not a fan of the block numbers, or any of the throwbacks for that matter. I like the more modern stuff. Personally, I think the color rush uniforms should be the permanent home uniform with some variation of that for the away uniform. Keep the helmet.

Color rush sucks. Zero respect for tradition, and we have a lot of it.

They had also better have a 32 on their helmets this week. Now I wish I had bought the tickets to the game.
