Steeler Nation continues to wait on the contract extension status of Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, Diontae Johnson. Johnson is entering his fourth year in the league after being drafting by the Steelers back in 2019 in the third round. He’s coming off of his best season in 2021 with 107 receptions, 1,161 receiving yards, and 8 touchdowns — all good enough to be voted into the Pro Bowl.

Despite Johnson’s outstanding numbers from a season ago, it seems as though Steeler Nation is split on if they want to extend Johnson’s contract or not. People question if he’s a true WR1, and with the increasing price market recently in regards to the receivers across the league, fans question whether Johnson is worth top dollar.

Is Johnson ready to extend with Steelers?

According to ESPN senior NFL reporter, Jeremy Fowler, Johnson wants to be a Steeler for the foreseeable future.

“My understanding is that Diontae Johnson wants to be in Pittsburgh long-term. I think he’s prepared to play it out…I think he sees himself as having a chance in year four to be a top guy.”

Fixing the damn drops are his only hold up to me. Thought he had it done last year but that reared it’s ugly head at the worst possible time again.

Guess he heard about Deebo wanting traded, lol.

Well Considering he had 5 drops last year as opposed to 17 (lead the nfl) the year before, he has come a long ways.

I say pay 15-17 mill.

AND

Who the **** doesn't want to play in PITTSBURGH, players coach and don't have to work to hard
with non-losing season being all you have to accomplish....... (little sarcasm)

Salute the nation

Those inside out routes are true ankle breakers. I really like his play, he can also high point it like the best of them

$15 million range and you keep him. $20 million range and he's gone. He's a good WR no doubt. I just don't see him being a game-changer like most of these guys getting huge contracts. He is currently at the back third or quarter of the WR1 market. That's where his salary should be.

He's not 20-22 million a year good... He just needs to focus and show he can put very good back to back seasons together.

Of course he wants to stay in Pittsburgh at HIS price.we don't meet his price and then he wants to leave, **** him.

He’s just an average wr.. if that’s what you want a very expensive, average wr, prone to big drops in big games sign him!! i say trade him keep the wr’s door revolving the draft has good wrs every draft that has his level of talent. it’s up the scouts to find them
