Stryker is back for more questions for the Podcast 8/24

Avery just immediately signed with the Bucs… do you think he was leapfrogged by the younger guys, that he just didn’t fit the system the way they wanted him too, or do you think he asked to be cut to join the Bucs?
 
Also, Im interested if you feel as I do that this could be one of Tomlins best staffs he has had.. I really like the Wr coach change, and i am cautiously optimistic that the oline coach’s system might be a good thing longer term…

I also have a feeling that Canada will be better this year actually running his system

I am worried about Danny smith because it feels like he might not get to keep many hand picked aces this year, and frankly his special teams are mediocre even when he does…

I think he didn't fit our team's scheme. As in the past Tomlin had no shortcomings about identifying players who wanted out.
 
Madinsomniac just made me think of a great question to investigate speaking of Danny Smith. Just HOW MUCH does he spend on HubbaBubba during the season? 🤔
 
Dulac just tweeted that cutting Avery is simply that he didn’t fit the scheme… that is actually good… I was terrified they were going to keep an Olb that didn’t have a good pass rush as the primary backup and a special teams ace as the 4…

So now there are five potential or real questions on the roster

The top backup at Olb
The starting left Guard
The second starting ilb
The starting LT
And maybe the Starting RG

So what is the priority to spend cap on there?

I have to believe that at least one of those olinemen will get better as the new technique gets more familiar, but you almost need to find a better potential starter somehow just in case… that is priority 1

I think they are going to take a long look Sunday at the 4 or 5 olb guys they have before any move is made there

I don’t think they make a preseason move at ilb at all unless a miracle Bush trade happens…
 
So here are some offensive line questions

1. What is your Over under number on sacks surrendered this season?

2. Have you thought about getting someone on the podcast to break down the fundamental difference between the blocking scheme this year compared to last? Its not the same.

3. which Olinemen do you see improving as the season goes on and who is just screwed?

4. Yea or Nay to getting another LT in and moving Moore inside

Oladokun is a QB we just cut … if he is starting on our DL we are really screwed 🤣🤣🤣

Chris Oladokun is a QB
Larry Ogunjobi is a DL
Gunner Olszewski is a WR/KR
Chukwuma Okorafor is an OT

Everyone with O in their name should have to change it to “Smith” to cut down on the confusion lol
