Supremes just busted Labor Unions

Unions have to sell themselves to their members instead of having the government do the heavy lifting for them.

It's an outstanding ruling. I've been against unions vs. taxpayers my entire life. Even police unions I think hurt more than help and have hindered reforms that liberals want (however, when I say I see those same reforms necessary to the teaching profession, they go bat ****).

As I get older, I am actually liking private sector unions (to a point). We might even be at a point unions in tech industries and against some of the bigger mega-corporations would be a good thing. Who knows. I think the laws are still there for them to collectively group and bargain in they want.

But unions against taxpayers and their ability to withhold vital society functions is just wrong in my opinion.

Whaaaaaaat?!? Why, you share beliefs with some crazed right-wingers, like:

George Meany, 1955: "It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government.”

FDR, 1937: "Meticulous attention should be paid to the special relations and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the Government ....The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service." Government employee unions and strikes would be "unthinkable and intolerable.”

Public employee unions have only been a thing since JFK signed an executive order allowing them in 1963. Be fun if President Trump signed another one taking them away.

No paying fees if you aren't a member of the union. That is huge.
