Steelers will only fire Tomlin after a decade of sub .500 and the Islanders ditch the best coach they had since the glory years for one bad season. Can't there be something in the middle?

Crack out the early to mid 80's Islander tapes. They had a team! We did too. The 1970's and the mid to late 2000's.

Not happening. Hopefully not another decade of suffering though. Might be too much.
Trottier and the Sutters were kinda local for you, I think.

What a great team; thankfully ending the Evil Habs run and bridging the gap until the Oilers run.

Loved that Isles/Oilers final.

Hockey was great for a while until the Habs South Devils became dominant with their soccer on ice.

8-8-1 Is about as MIDDLE as you can get...............

I hear yaz SteelerSask, Our medioKer run needs to come to a hault. Tomlin has I think two seasons (or is it 3) and if he isn't winning PO games then he needs

G-O-N-E in 60 seconds after the season finale loss. Door meet asZ

Salute the nation

Most retarded thing EVER!
I'm am currently praying the Flyers snatch him up IMMEDIATELY now.
They are in dire need of Trotz.

Agreed completely. Like I told my nephew who is also a fan. If he had died I'd have been sad for his family but frankly this is more shocking. Like wtf. And Coolie the point of this thread is to contrast one franchise which holds on to HC's too long and one who does this. So you can go **** yourself and your smarmy comments.

Noooooooo! I was pissed when they got Vigneault and overjoyed when they fired him and replaced him with Mike Yeo. Being a Pens fan, I love watching the Flyers with incompetent coaches.

Being a Pens fan. **** Trotz, but….if he were coaching the Pens I wouldn’t complain. Lol.

Can Trotz coach football?
He sure would not be able to play it. The man has no neck and the helmet would be buried right into his shoulders. I hated seeing him leave Nashville. I got to know him when I worked for the Preds back in the day. He was a genuinely nice guy. You always knew it was him if you saw him from behind in the hall with his bowling ball head planted right between his shoulders.

I just felt Trotz and Tomlin were completely different type of coaches. If Tomlin has a problem he fixes it with better players next year. Trotz schemes it away.

I remember you saying.
The guy turned Washington into a rival. The Pens and Caps have a hardcore rivalry going. I don’t expect Trotz to be out of a job much longer. He’s a guy I’d want if Sullivan gets canned
