TD Pass to Pickens in the 4th Quarter......

That TD pass to Pickett in the 4th Quarter it appears that Kenny Pickett calls an audible......just listen to the play below.....you can hear it.



Now the question is why did Matt Canada look so pissed off in the press box while everyone else was elated and happy?

That does sound like an audible, especially considering it might be the first time I've ever heard Pickett move away from his normal shotgun spot and shout anything other than hut. Finally Pickett might have actually told Canada to get bent, keep doing that Kenny

of course he could just be covering for canada's ineptness

Most likely, maybe they were even told to say it was called in the huddle. If that's the case, big yikes having our coaching staff covering for the absolute ineptitude of Matt Canada, which would all but guarantee his continued stay as coach 🤮
 
All you all gonna feel real bad when we find out that Canada’s wife is being held by the Mob and them scoring cost her a pinky toe…. 😉

Maybe but then why shout whatever "Randy" is right before the snap, and if it was just a protection audible he wouldn't have looked down both sidelines to his receivers to make sure they hear it
 
He was sliding protection to the right to make up for the fact that there was an uncovered defender on that side when the Ravens went with Cover 0. "Randy" = Right.
At least that's what they're saying over on DK's site (and it makes sense).
 
Regardless of whether Canada called the play you would think he would be happy the team scored a go ahead TD.......I would fire him just for being an ***

i'm thinking there were two plays

canada called in the obvious run up the middle and KP called that play then said if they stack the box and leave the edge one on one we are going deep

that is what he is calling at the line

No, but he would look at both sides of the line and make sure they heard him. To me, that's what looked like happened. You can even see Seamalu (sp) and Jones looking at him before he looks right and repeats himself (where Chuks is seen looking/listening).
 
IMO they gave Pickett a little bit of control in the second half. Between the no huddle and him making calls at the line, the offense looked different. It still wasn't good enough, but they actually moved the ball some in the second half.
 
It looked like the line slid right so it was most likely a protection call. Still doesnt mean Canada called the pass to Pickens though. Tomlin saying the play developed is BS. How can a play develop before it starts. Im thinking Canada called a play and Kenny told Pickens if your singled run a go and im tossing it up
 
I mean we are super predictable so if we called a run, teams always play it like it is a run and we don’t audible out… I could see us calling a predictable run and the defense selling out to stop it… and Kenny just deciding getting bitched at in the qb room is better than getting booed off the field again

I lost track of how many times I have been screaming for KP to be allowed to do this. If he sees Pickens 1 on 1 with no help over the top, you have to take a few step drop and fire it to him. Play to win. He will command double teams the rest of the season even when DJ is back after the bye and that will seriously open up the O.

Yes …a lack of audibles allow a team to sell out on something of they think they know the call…

Somewhat. Just really depends. If he is showing a step or leaning in that direction sure. If he is covered that isn't a high percentage completion say an over the shoulder attempt. So you stay away from those on 3rd down.

Could be both. He could have called the Canada play in the huddle but also told the guys that if they saw Zero that X was the call he would audible to. Which would be consistent with what happened on the field: Ravens went Zero and we see what visibly looked like an audible.
