Teams Biggest Need(Poll)

I would trade every single draft pick and TJ to the Pats for Marcus Jones. I heard he fills a lot of holes and that is important to coolie
not all the draft picks

you need to keep one to pick up Tank Dell

it is always good to get multiple holes filled by one guy

Going to be hard to replace that third string backup QB.

I almost picked that but will go with the trenches for the win Patch.

😁

Without a new OC and ST coach, nothing will matter.

OL and DL are still the 2 biggest needs, period, the end.
OL since we could only pick one.
In order:
1. OC
2. OL
3. DL
4. ILB
5. ST coach

We need a stud to anchor the OL for the next decade and a stud on the DL as well. If we can get both in this draft, it would be a huge success. On O, it could be LT, LG, or even C although Cole is doing well (at least for another year under contract). On D, it could be that big NT many of us covet or a stud DL to play opposite Cam for his final year or two to finish out his career.

1 OC
2 NT
3 stud LT
4 ILB
5 CB depth
6 fresh legs to develop both OL/DL

I will be honest I am a little surprised ILB didn't get a few more votes. IMO LT and ILB are two pretty big holes. Moore has struggled but has been playing better of late. PFF has him up to a 64 overall rating which would be considered an average starter. I am a firm believer if he would move to LG he would be a pro bowl caliber player. Watching him at LT reminds me of when Alan Faneca had to fill in a LT for 9 games in 2003. He did ok but just did not have the feet to keep up with the speed guys. He was best put in a box where he could pass guys off and use his strength to anchor in pass pro. Also, I think Moore has better agility to get to the second level vs Dotson. So I am all on board getting a true LT prospect. But with Bush gone next year that leaves Jack (free agent in 2024), Robinson, and Crowder on the payroll. I doubt we re-sign Bush unless he signs a Edmunds type deal but I feel he will rather sign that elsewhere. And Spillane I bet we throw an offer at, but he might decide to test free agency. And I highly doubt we franchise him at 18+ million.

Other than OC, I think it is still a stud Left tackle

and some big guys to plug the middle

Big hitting ILB

CB

and Tank Dell of course
******* Coolie stole my thunder. Yep, OC for sure and stud LT must be at the forefront.
DL needs a stud as well to add with Cam, Leal, and Loudercream, I mean milk.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Larry O re- signed.
Must find an ILB since the Bush experiment is over. Jack comes back for another season and then there’s Mark Robinson who may be the answer. Idk,msybe! I would bring back Mickey Spillane for depth too but do need to bring in an ILB.
CB is a need as you say! I’m thinking that first pick is either a stud LT or Peezy’s kid. If it’s a LT then maybe one of those second round picks gets your CB.
I’ll add a slot receiver too either by draft or FA.

It depends on who is there. Oline or Dline

Safety. Said it last year, say it again this year. We don't have a starting SS on our roster next year. Karl Joseph, KZ, Edmunds are all FAs. That's why I wanted Hamilton in the 1st last year.

Every other postion can be upgraded, but we have NFL starters and great depth working their way up at ILB & DL. The offensive line can be upgraded, but they're playing excellent ball now. WR is a low priority as we're drafting for depth and not a starter. CB can be upgraded, but we've got good starters and a couple development guys that may work out (Gilbert, WJ3). I think we'll draft all of these positions, just not the biggest needs IMHO.

Other than the Tank Dell thing, this. CB, LT, NT, ILB in that order, please.

Hamilton is a liability in coverage. He is pretty much Terrell Edmunds. That's why the Ravens play him in the box a ton.

1. Offensive Line
This group has made improvements and a big part was Cole and Daniels solidifying the interior. I still don't feel this team can win in the trenches each week and I want to see that moving into next year. One more piece can really help elevate this line.

2. Cornerback
They have guys at the position, but that's it, just guys. Sutton is solid, just not much with Wallace or Witherspoon and overall an underachieving group. Given the high-end talent in the draft, the Steelers have the chance to draft their first shutdown cornerback since Ike Taylor.

3. Defensive Line
I'd probably rate wide receiver higher if DJ was in the final year of his contract or if there was more first-round talent. Given the depth they need,

4. Wide Receiver
I'd probably rate wide receiver higher if DJ was in the final year of his contract or if there was more first-round talent. I also think they'll count on Calvin Austin making an impact. I'd consider Jordan Addison if he is the BAA in the first or if there is a receiver that falls in the draft just to build depth. Otherwise, a 2023 crew with Pickens, Johnson, Sims, and Austin could potentially be good.

5. Inside Linebacker
The Steelers have invested so much into finding the answer and failed to find an impact player. I'm a bit snake bitten on this position. I also believe the sweet spot to draft an ILB is in the second or third round. While it may be a big need, it isn't a big investment position for me, which is why I'm ranking it lower.

6. Safety
When you have Minkah Fitzpatrick at one safety spot and hopefully a good pass rush next year, this is the lowest rated need. Sign Edmunds to a three-year deal or find a mid-tier guy on the UFA market. I'm not looking to make a splash.

Fully want trench help also BUT we do need that high investment in a LT, not a lower end 3rd, but 1 or one of the twos.

Our OL is just about there, we need this year a LT and next year high investment OC. We can’t ignor the OL as we have in the past.

I'd prefer them address 5 and 6 in free agency by a combination of their own (S) and outside of the roster (ILBer).

I don’t care if it is OT, G or C, but we need an Oline anchor .. a real stud to build blocking schemes around… 5 ok players on a line often performs like a bad line… all it take is 1 stud player and 1 above average guy to make it a great line… there is a glut of Tackles available that fit the mold this year, so that is the most logical choice, but id grab a tackle and another interior guy… and at least one of those two with one of the first or second round picks for certain…

After that its less need and more depth, upgrades, and luxury…
CB
Id like a true shutdown Corner, but lets be realistic… we have not had success developing them, and the top guys coming out, like JPJr, might not be exactly that kind of corner we are talking about.. really good, and certainly a potential upgrade, the position is super deep but each is either not a true nfl level boundry shutdown guy or is somewhat a project … there isn’t a consensus best guy yet and from draft site to draft site the top 20 varies greatly… Witherspoon might be a first round guy or fourth round guy depending on the scout.. we have a lot of #2 types and slot corners… tge chance we find a true 1 in this group is small ( but possible)

DT
Again with leal and loudermilk the Dline has some youth and they have some practice squaders that might be ok as depth pieces, but Alualu is toast, and Adams is ok, but a future long term solution is really ideal and tgere are going to be some options in the second round for that.. i don’t think they prioritize NT anymore so maybe they don’t go this direction, but its higher on the list than WR in my opinion…

S
This totally depends on who we resign, but i dont think we are going to bring all the ufas back so we should grab one… there are some really good options available in the mid rounds

WR… look we are gonna draft one eventually… but i think we aren’t as bad off in this area as people think if CA3 turns out good… if we resign Sims and if Anthony Miller or Cody White are good to go as the fifth guy, the wr corps will be fine.

LB… hey I love Mark Robinson and he is going to drop this position on my list of true needs, but Tomlin love’s hybrid Safety IL B types, and with Bush likely getting trimmed, this might get looked at earlier than expected

OLB - with how this defense drops off when one of tge two starters is out ( going back to depree) we sure as hell better start having a young talented pass rushing backup on the roster rather than a crusty vet and special teams ace every season

Very low priority positions
TE- just resign Gentry… if a big talent falls or tgey want to get another Te instead of a wr , fine

RB- they have a top two down, and typically the rest can be ufas or udfas. If they grabbed a change of pace speed back in the draft I wouldn’t mind…

QB. I actually think they might spend like a seventh on one again.. a true gamble type… they will at minimum need a #3 guy and a seventh is usually waiver fodder anyway… so go gamble on some project qb
