Just saw this on a feed. Still pisses me off. Totally sold out on the run. Both safeties up. Never respected Tebow or adjusted their game plan despite his success that day. Pure stubbornness and arrogance. In the top 5 of the most bitter losses for me. I was just as mad at Dick, and would love to have been a fly on the wall when it came to the discussion of the game plan.

My game was the playoff loss to Jacksonville.

I still think we win if Ryan Clark had been able to play. Or Ben played better.

Better coaching would have helped as well.

Playing scared of Tim ****-ing Tebow………………..

Salute the nation

I hate to say it, but the Tebow strategy was 100% correct and how everyone but us beat him that year...

Tebow only completed 10 passes and basically they only scored 3 points in the second half of the game.

Tebow was a notoriously inaccurate passer. He hit 5 perfect passes that game... you cannot blame the D on that. The O scored only 16 points until the typical late game heroics by Roethlisberger tied it up with ledd than 4 minutes left.

It was another super stupid offensive gameplan where we stalled out and kicked field goal over and over, punted on 4 th and short on their side of the field, and turned the ball over on their side of the field.
We passed 40 times despite being under pressure all gane... gave up 5 sacks... we only rushed 23 times for over 6 yards per rush...

4 of Tebows best passes of his whole career came that game. The D scheme was how you typically shut him down, and they did... Denver scored 20 points in the 2nd quarter, this came off of 3 perfect passes of 51,30, and 58 yards, and a pittsburgh turnover inside their own 20.

Then Denver did nothing in the first and third quarters. They got a single field goal in the fourth off of a DPI.

Tebow that season had 5 4 th quarter comebacks because when teams played their safeties high, he just ran the ball down the field effectively... his sack rate was over 10% that year...

The steelers were simply following the gameplan of how to beat him... the Broncos were on a 3 gane losing streak to the same strategy... and the Pats would beat them with the same plan the very next week too.

The steelers squandered their offensive possessions and Tebow hit some lucky passes...
if you were going to blame something on Tomlin, the D strategy isnt the problem there... it was the typical and near epidemic failure to score points until late in the game that his teams always have

I knew someone would say exactly this. How you can say they shut him down boggles my mind. Shutting down a QB is letting him throw 3 passes of 51,30,and 58 yards and scored 20 points in the second quarter? What? The second quarter shouldn’t count? Perhaps we should take away our 4th quarter when we scored 10? 🙄Shutting him down was letting him throw an 80 yard TD pass on the first play of OT? That’s shutting him down? Good lord. On all the bombs they sold out on the run.

Tim Tebow scored 29 points on them in a playoff game. We were 1st in the league allowing the fewest points. Giving up an average of 14.2 a game. Tim Tebow put up 29. Sure,sure……..” The defensive strategy isn’t the problem here”.
Seems to me despite having many good defenses in the regular seasons under CMT when it comes to playoff games those defenses have been far from stellar. And yes…the offensive plans sucked too. Hence my title in this thread.

Tebow threw for 316 yards on just 10 completions.

There's no way to polish that turd. None. Nein.

could have been any time from 2018- on. with some of the best teams in the NFL nothing could get accomplished.
The owner could have picked every single year to 86 him. I

I was in the stands for the Tebow game. We had a huge rally in the parking lot, with Frenchy Fuqua there signing things. ALL of the Denver fans were telling us we were going to crush them, and they were all cool with it.

But Tomlin. That was a horrid game plan. He NEVER, and I mean NEVER has that "Crush them" attitude, and that is what was needed there. Dude is trash. I have been over him for years, after watching Ben draw plays in the sand in the 4th quarter to bail Tomlin's sorry game plan out of the trash.

I can't tell you the grief I got going into the GB superbowl game. I told my (very huge) fan club that we were not winning that game. He can't coach. It's just lame. Their defense was in the hospital, and he didn't savagely attack them. Nope. Let's keep is close and see if we win.

Dude is a turd, and I rarely go off this clearly because of whatever makes people whine or whatever, but he never would have made it out of that stadium as an employee had I had anything to do with it.

That was the game that Ike had the worst statistical game in NFL history as Thomas simply ran by him for score after score.
How the heck are we supposed to beat the other team, Goodell, the refs AND God???

That seems a bit unfair.

We should at least be able to deploy the 4-4-4 defense in those scenarios
Our beloved soon-to-be-former HC would immediately shift that to the 2-3-7 with at least 2 deep center fielders.

Why stop there Fiji. The way our D plays in the playoffs I’d say we need a 4-4-4-4 alignment to compete. 🍻

For me the last straw would have been after the embarrassing home playoff loss to the ******* Blake Bortles led Jaguars.
Tomlin was looking ahead to the following week against the Pats but totally disregarded the upcoming opponent Jaguars.
He should have been shown the door then.
