With the loss today we fall to 10th (or if miami wins 11th) place... we absolutely have to win both remaining games....

we play the Ravens, who hold the final playoff spot, so we can dislodge them, however we also need all of the following teams to lose 1 game:
Chargers- who play the Broncos at home then the raiders in vegas
Raiders- who play at the colts then home vs the chargers
and maybe the dolphins who play at the saints tonight, at the **** next week, and home vs the pats

we'd also get a slight reprieve if Buffalo, the colts, or the pats were to lose two games and open another wildcard spot or two for us...

The division is still open if we won both games and the Bungles lost to the Chiefs next week than the Browns in cleveland the final week.

having four teams between us and the final wild card with only two weeks to go isnt very high odds to make it ... looks like it will be a near miss yet again

This isn't a playoff-caliber team...yet the Steelers somehow still have a half decent shot to win the division.

Yeah, even if we back into the playoffs this team isn't winning anything unless the rest of the league gets the 'Rona.

In our house we are now playing Drinking Romo, a game for when Tony Romo is on the tube. You drink every time Tony says “Jim”. Good luck, by halftime you need water and food for the 2nd. Wife has to catch up with 4 drinks just turning off the crock pot; makes watching the debacle easier and drinking a new reason. Kept me from breaking my TV 11 time when I saw MT on the screen

I'll never root for the Steelers to lose, but damn, with how close the standings are right now, they could move up a serious number of spots in the draft. I can't imagine that being a worse result than somehow winning the last two games and making the playoffs this year, only to get embarrassed once again in the first round.

Tomlin has been embarrassed in the first round many times before with better teams than this.
Our last three playoff games, all losses, we gave up 40 points or more in two and 36 in the other.

That trend would continue this year. We're going to be spared that embarrassment thankfully.

This is an awful team. It's solid bad all around.

The Steelers are still alive because the league is a watered down mess thanks to more teams, less talent, an extra game, another playoff spot, and covid protocols. This Steelers team is the worst since 1988. They don't deserve to be in and Tomlin deserves to lose.
