Lions Tight End raped in a 3rd and one critical situation. Referee rightly throws the flag. Somebody else on the crew reminds him. ("Uh, the Cowboys are supposed to win this one Pete.") Morelli picks up the flag.

In the middle of all this, Dez Bryant has come out onto the field with his helmet OFF and NONE of the officials bother to call him for it.

The talking heads are coming up with some kind of "discrepancy" bullshit. That's precisely what it is. Bullshit. A guy from the OFFENSE comes out onto the field on a defensive play with his helmet off arguing with an official and they use "discrepancy"?

Ok Rog...

At least TRY you ********. Pull David Copperfield out of retirement to conjure up some yellow flags for you. At least we wouldn't see the fix coming.

so soccer it is for you

I agree. If we did that ****, we'd be flagged in a heartbeat.

Too much running...

And I don't know which I hate more:

a). A flag is thrown & later picked up ...
no foul on the play.

b). No flag. WR (or other) complains...
flag comes flying out.

The fix is in

I'm not saying we were deliberately screwed by the officials - we deserved to lose - but I think there is something to the "right" teams getting to the Super Bowl. I think they want a "good" match up that will attract interest. Look for some funny calls against teams like Carolina, Baltimore, or Indianapolis, possibly Green Bay and Seattle if the powers that be want the Cowboys and New England to get in. Something tells me that is their dream matchup.

Brady gives referee "the look of disgust" flags fly!

The Steelers are a marquee matchup with any team in the NFL. If that were the case Goodell would want the Steelers in every Super Bowl.

WRONG!!!! The "rog" dislikes the STEELERS very much. The Steelers were the ONLY team to vote against the CBA. Mainly, they said, it gave the commissiner way to much single handed power. They struck back at "rog" and he hated it. I'm sure the STEELERS are a marquee match up, just one that has happened to many times and the "rog" just won't let it. That's if he has control over things. I'm sure at times, some owners get a vote down on him.

Also if I remember correctly...the Rooney's were the only ownership that voted against Goodell when the owners voted him in as the new Comish.

Except there are a lot of people who hate the Steelers too. I think it's pretty clear who Rog's favorite teams are and the Steelers are not one of them.

If its all about a favorable matchup why hasn't Dallas been in the super bowl since 95? Or how did the Bucs face the Raiders in 03? Its not rigged, reffing at full speed is just very hard.

That's completely incorrect. Dan was instrumental in getting Goodell hired.

**** Dallas

that is all

He can dislike them all he wants but we all know that $$ fuel every decision he makes. The Steelers are a top draw and for a commissioner worried about a buck he would want the Steelers in the playoffs and Super Bowl, IMO. Plus, Dan Rooney was key to getting Goodell hired.

Put another way, when is the last time a small-market team without a large fan base benefited from a controversial call in a critical game?
