‘Dark day’ for Bengals: Cincinnati losing both starting safeties in free agency

Fingers crossed that you can open the link. Some articles they make public, some they do not.

Steelers better resign Edmunds sooner than later.

I know you mentioned in another thread that the Bengals drafted Daxton Hill last year to replace Bates when he left. Not sure they expected to loose Voss as well and Hill did little last season. He played with an injured shoulder starting about mid-season, but not much production overall. We'll see how his second season turns out but I'm sure they're on the phones, maybe Gardner Johnson?

Bell, not Voss

The Bengals are saving up to re-sign Burrow and Chase imo. They likely try to ink him long term next offseason to avoid the tag and lower his cap hit. They have like 30m in cap space so they likely roll a chunk of that over. Of course a smart owner and team would use this year as an opportunity to try to win a championship. But not the good old bungles. Art Rooney II is probably taking notes on how they handle this as he's probably just as cheap.

As far as I know the Steelers are almost always up to the cap. In fact after the covid season when the cap didn't go up as much as forecast they had to scramble to make cap.

I see the same thing as you. How is Rooney cheap when the STEELERS are always up against the cap?

The place I see cheapness isn't on the cap. Its on the assistant coaches and coordinators. Part of the reason Canada still has a job despite some of the poorest outcomes in the league over two years is that he has a year left on the contract. That and the continuous bargain basement names at positional coaches.
