FYI this loss against the Browns was not the worst loss....September 10, 1989 the Browns beat the Steelers 51-0. It was Three Rivers Stadium Biggest margin of victory within the rivalry at the time and Also the worst loss for the Steelers in franchise history.

Thanks for the Silver lining!

I feel better now, Cheryl:p

It may not have been the worst loss to the Browns, but it was certainly the worst I've seen the Steelers play in Tomlins entire time here.

Ok...whats your point? That the Steelers werent good back then, and theyre not good now? Were there any '89 browns still on their team this past Sunday?

Yes, I agree. Steelers sucked then, and suck now

Trying to excuse this abortion of a game is ridiculous. The 89' clown team went 9-7 with 4 OT games that year. They lost to Denver in the conference championship game. The Steelers won the next game 17-7 in Cleveland. Bud Carson was the coach while Kosar was the QB. Also that team had Metcalf, Slaughter, Ozzie Newsome, Perry, Clay Matthews, Johnson, and Minnifield. This clown version has nobody in that class.

This clowns beat down was worse because the Steelers have much better talent. They were out coached by a rookie HC that nobody wanted and a QB that can't carry Kosar's jock.

No, that wasn't the worst loss. That was the opening game of a team coming off of a 5-11 season against a Browns team that eventually won the division. A Steeler team that turned it around after it's first two horrible beat downs and made the playoffs when there were only 5 AFC playoff spots to take at that time (Three division champs and two wildcards. They added a third wildcard the following year.)

No, to me, these are the worst Cleveland losses:

Pittsburgh Steelers 6 at Cleveland Browns 13 Thursday, December 10, 2009
Pittsburgh Steelers 14 at Cleveland Browns 20 Sunday, November 25, 2012

Two much more recent games under the same coach, both coming off of playoff years, one a super bowl year, and both losing to bad, bad, bad Browns teams. This past Sunday's loss was more of an indication of where both teams are headed.

LOL you guys are incredible -- and you fans that have NEVER seen a loss like that are just SPOILED .. Everyone likes to win .. but sometimes that just doesn't happen REGARDLESS OF THE REASONS !

89 steelers made the playoffs and came within a missed FG of making the AFC championship game. They didnt suck, Noll won his only coach of the year that year. The fact that that team turned it around, as well as the fact that the Steeler team that lost to the cowboys started the year 3-4, give me some false hope. False hope because Tomlin is no where near the coach Noll and Cowher were.

This incarnation of the Stains is better than some of you give them credit for. Trying to find ways to prove it is futile. They kicked our *** fairly easily the last time we played. History doesn't mean ****.

I remember that game, as I recall it came after another blow out. I want to say to the Bengals. I was in college and was having too much fun to really care.

Correction! It came before a 41-10 blow-out loss to the Bengals.

Actually you're right, i got my seasons mixed up there.

I will say, the season we lost to dallas in the SB ('95), we had a FARRRR better core group of players than we do now.

I have always been about the positive, wait and see.

But nothing to see here this team flat out sucks.

And I calendar in my mind how long before this joke of a coaching staff is let go.

Good point Cpollock, Most fans, especially the spoiled / bandwagon / type are extremely spoiled. First and foremost, it is a GAME. Yes we have been spoiled as a franchise, when it was actually real football. Now that it is a FF / cream puff game we as a franchise haven't figured out how to play yet, need to face reality. The new game isn't being handled by our current coaches / players / OWNERS. Here's to hoping some things happen.

I too have been a wait and see type fan. I've waited long enough to see this current situation on the STEELERS team, needs addressed. I have witnessed those bad bad losses. But for some reason, most of the past losses don't seem as bad as this, due to the future of the franchise as opposed to then and now.
