Despite playing Lamar twice a year and having Fields on their roster 9 months ago? Did Tomlin seriously think the Jets were going to shackle him like he did in 2024?

This is just another example of how poorly coached Mike Tomlin teams are. Line up and play. Beat your man. Do what we do against nameless, grey faces.

Glad we got the win but the process was bad and will cost us in future games.

Has nothing to do with Tomlin...LOL...He's saying they got conditioned practicing against Rodgers vs. playing Fields. And that might have lulled them to sleep a little as far as Fields abilities.

Context: try it you'll like it.

Do you actually believe Tomlin and the entire team were not aware Fields is a running QB? C'mon man....

They're out of shape and lack conditioning. Who is responsible for that, exactly?

Read what Thornhill said. He said they don't have that kind of QB to practice against as the reason he said they may not have been prepared. To me, it is the wrong thing to focus on. My issue is why didn't Tomlin have the starters play more preseason snaps? The Jets starters played quite a bit. They were far more prepared physically for meaningful football than the Steelers were, and it showed. Thankfully they got the win. But how many more weeks will it take to get these guys there physically?

Preparing his “historic” defense has nothing to do with him? This is the **** Edelman was laughing about on that podcast last year. The Steelers run out the same defense every game and well coached teams know how to beat it.

You can use any player with speed to simulate read-option plays. They had ALL offseason to prepare, too, Howard could have simulated this in practice before his injury.

LeBeau would have suffocated that offense yesterday.

Wilson has now come out and stated in game adjustments during came late and that was a major issue last season also.

Statement came from a SteelerNation article. Seems the players are tired of the coaching faulures and want change.

Where are our ******* team leaders!!!! Right this ship now. While the season is still young.

I read an article during training camp where the Jets HC said they were going to use all of Fields abilities to their advantage...or something like that.

Agreed. My point though is that you could have done all that, but the team, especially the defense, isn't in football shape...because they didn't play any football. They were not physically prepared first and foremost.

That might explain fading at the end, they got gashed from the start. And the LBs played in preseason but were lost out there.

Tomlin calls the d plays and the players execute them how it is drawn up and practiced. They are out of position time and time again. Adjustments come late in game players are saying.

What say you SteelerinLebanon? Are the players lying? 🤔

I think the players are tired of getting embarrassed weekly. To bad are "team leaders" are silent. Well they are making the big $$$. Probably don't want to rock the sinking boat.

Some of these guys are great talkers but don’t back it up. Good at boasting how great they are and making excuses when they fail.
Peyton Wilson is one of those guys and he and Queen got steamrolled Sunday.
We’ve been hearing about communication issues all of last season now once again to start the season. There is no reason this shouldn’t have been corrected before the first game.
Yesterday’s TD run by Fields where he swept around right end. There were absolutely zero Steeler defenders anywhere near him on that play.
They all bunched up in the middle as Fields pretty much jogged into the end zone around right end.
I still can’t believe they fell for that! You had to know that’s what he was going to do. It’s his strength but the defense was totally fooled.
They were totally unprepared to play Fields.

I was thrilled we got him as a Buckeye fan but I feared they’d shackle him like Pickett and they sure did. If Tomlin is still around I don’t want them going anywhere near another first round QB, just keep getting retreads.

Read Thornhill's words...Again I am not a Tomlin defender, but actually read what he said.

If Justin Fields got to play the Steelers every week, he'd be the player everyone in the media wants him to be. The guy has looked good every time he's played the Steelers.

Mike Tomlin is taking on that three-card Monte guy again because damn it, THIS TIME he'll get him!!
