Time to Root for Steeler Losses

Move to Cleveland and be a browns fan, get all the Ls you can eat
Call everyone criticizing Tomlin “crackers” again like you did a couple of weeks ago, cmon you know you want to…

Only a SJW troll like you is on here today giving cover to the performance we saw two days ago

🤡

Does anyone even care about that longevity record?

He’s 4 playoff wins behind Cowher, 8 playoff wins behind Noll, and 3 Super Bowl wins behind Noll. All three are more meaningful.

Tomlin’s legacy in Pittsburgh is changing by the year. His first decade, while it had some disappointing endings, was really good overall. The past decade is bad and the longer he hangs on, the worse it’s going to get.
Only the media pundits, Art II, and Tomlin himself care about such things.
We TRUE Steeler fans only care about THIS Tomlin stat, which NOBODY wants to talk about.....

After this season concludes, Tomlin will have :
Made the playoffs in 12 of 19 seasons
Only won a playoff game (at least 1) in 4 of those 19 seasons
A career playoff record of 8-11 (.421) in his 19 seasons

If the same team and game plan show up for the remaining 5 games, I don't think we need to be rooting for them to lose.

Ravens x 2, Detroit, and an improving Browns and Dolphins. 0-5 would not surprise me.

Normally, I'd agree...it's the Rooney way. However, something is different. Chants to fire Tomlin and Booing renegade are tell tale signs that the natives are restless. But, how restless? About 40-45% of seats for the Monday Night game against the hapless Dolphins are available for sale. Now, Art Duece is looking at not only declining revenue, but His stadium will also be half empty and on display for the world to witness in prime-time programming. That is something Art Duece will not like one bit!
I damn near fell out of my chair when I heard the boos during Renegade.
I was not surprised in the least about the Fire Tomlin chants.
I want to see a completely empty stadium, or a stadium with only Dolphin fans in it.
THAT will send the message needed to make the necessary changes.

The problem is, whether they admit it or not, the .500 record is meaningful and has become the goal. They do just enough during the offseason to reach this goal and it's holding the franchise back. They also need a QB, but options will be limited. Either way, they need to attack offense early in this draft and rebuild the defense with youth using the later picks.
Short-term thinking. We know we can't develop players so sign whatever vets we can find with a little bit left in the tank because they aren't as likely to make mistakes.
Whatever it takes to get to 9 wins.
Because I'm old and remember stuff, Terry Bradshaw wasn't the full-time starting QB until halfway through his fourth season. The year they won their first Super Bowl.

I hear yaz Fiji, but it seems the team is becoming less and less responsive to our noted “Whisperer”.

Now is the time IF there were a single leader on the team that the said “leader” should be calling a players only meeting and reading the riot act. Mike
Sure ain’t gonna rally the troops for any “unleashing of hell”

If you played on this team last year and saw how it played out and you’re here for another ride you should be able to tell exactly what is happening here and not repeat your mistakes. Or, like the ownership it’s all just about the $$$

Is the coaching abysmal? Absolutely
Do players still need accountability? Absolutely
Would a leader say something? Absolutely

Sadly this team lacks leadership at the top AND on the field.

If WATT has any guts at all he looks in the mirror, steps up his play AND gets a vocal role as a leader.
Someone has to fill the void and it’s likely either Watt or Ramsey (and as the long tenured guy) TJ should realize his moment to step up…we all know
It’s not Cam

Who can lead on this team? They are devoid of winners.

Seriously, they barely have anyone who has won a playoff game let alone championship pedigree and they just let one of those guys go. Seumalo doesn't like to speak. Rodgers is trying but seems to have found the challenge. Ramsey could, but like Rodgers, he's only been here for a year. There are no home grown leaders in that locker room.

Dick LeBeau's defense started to leak when the veterans aged and the younger generation didn't have the same attitude and work ethic as the vets. Polamalu spoke to this. I think Roethlisberger struggled as well. It's an underrated trait of Cowher as to how well he developed that type of culture.

I think Tomlin does have a good culture overall, it's just not a championship culture. They play like the individual accomplishments outweigh the team success. Then again, when you depend on star players to play like stars as the only way for your schemes to succeed, that is what you're going to get.

Confusions say: This very wise man speak.!!!

I can’t disagree with this. I said before last game that the Joe Burrow bungles are going to win this division. It’s a VERY good chance and I realize things can change, but it’s set up to be that way.

**** tomlin and his predictable word salad.

A friend sent me this text...I got a chuckle out of it......

Justin Fields stats last season through 6 games before he got benched:

65.93% comp
1,106 yards
5 tds. 1 int

Rodger’s stats last 6 games:

60.82% comp
1065 yards
4 tds. 4 ints

Think he gets benched?

Well Rodgers has a better QB waiting in the wings behind him than Fields had, so a move should be eminent. Bring on Howard!!!

Sadly, yes. Nothing will happen until the contract expires.
I think he definitely wants Tomlin to surpass Noll's win total at the very least.
Tomlin is 4 from tying, and 5 from breaking Noll's team wins record.

Tomlin ain't tying nor breaking that mark this year.
That much I do know.
Also in Noll's career they were playing 14 or 16 games a season. In Tomlin's time it was 16 and beginning a couple years ago 17.

For as bad as things look right now, I'm not sure if the Steelers completely bottoming out is going to happen in the foreseeable future.

I suppose I need to actually see Tomlin have a losing season to believe it's even possible.

They could conceivably win the division, which would all but guarantee more Tomlin for awhile, IMO.

Winning the AFCN would by like winning the Superbowl with how low the bar has been set, especially in the eyes of Rooney.

I see two potential wins on the schedule - Cleveland and Miami, and I think they could easily lose both. This is just a bad team.

The Steelers 6-11 record over their last season's worth of games says a lot.

However, things seemed just as dire a couple years ago when they lost those consecutive home games to 10-loss teams (another Tomlin record).

They somehow looked like a different team once Rudy took over the last month of the season.

They started 2-6 in 2021 and 2022, I believe.

This does feel different, with Watt declining among other things, but we should not underestimate Tomlin's ability to squeeze annual "non-losing" football out of his teams. That's all I'm saying.

With that being said, a second straight collapse in the second half of the season "might" be what it takes to compel Rooney to make a move.

Given the finances involved, I would not hold my breath, though.

We need to hope for a trade of some sort, especially if it helps get another high draft pick or two to make a move for a potential franchise QB within the next couple years.
