The First Team All Pro has been selected, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have two players that have been named to the team:
To no one’s surprise, TJ Watt and Cameron Heyward have been named to the team. Both have had incredible years and were absolute no brainers for the selection. Watt tied the all-time sack record this season with 22.5 in 15 games played, pacing the league. He also led the league in tackles for loss with 21. To go with those, he has 39 QB hits, 64 total tackles, 5 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 7 passes defended. He is strongly believed to be the front runner for Defensive Player of the Year. This is Watt’s third straight First Team All Pro selection.
Heyward had a fantastic year as well. He was arguably the most dominant interior defensive lineman in the league, sans Aaron Donald. Heyward put together a campaign which included 10 sacks, 15 TFL, 17 QB Hits, 89 total tackles, 1 forced fumble and recovery, 9 passes defended, and 1 absolutely ridiculous interception. This is Heyward’s 3rd First Team selection in the last five seasons. He has arguably been the soul of this defense with the effort he puts forth every snap.
We congratulate both of these tremendous players on this huge accomplishment. We will need them to be at their best going into a Wild Card Playoff showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday. They will look to show why they were named All Pro’s in this exciting matchup.
