If we manage to pull out another upset Sunday night, it would be huge to see TJ back for the Eagles game. Could spark a real revival… Probably not gonna happen but would be awesome. He could rest for 2 weeks after…

Not sure how if that surgery pushed him back. Damn sure would be nice to have him on the field again.

Most definitely, but only if healthy ad not hurried injury wise.

PS

As the starters become healthy I guarantee the will be back in the line up, wether this week or next but definitely as soon as their health permits. These backups are just that, backups. They did their job and will be back on the bench as soon as the starters are available.

Right, but I have to ask a loaded question, because I deal with it.

Do you trust Tomlin to give a hat to the best player, or does he give it to others because they have pedigree, or were drafted in a high round, or whatever?

He has proven time and again that PEDIGREE matters.

Whatever that means

Coach tOMLIN HAS BEEN KNOWN TO LET THE BETTER PLAYER SIT DUE TO BEING LOWER DRAFT (sorry caps) statis. Lower pedigree to speak.

Jarvis Jones played even though clearly there was better, Devon Bush could be another candidate. others as well.

Tomlin seems to have a doghouse attitude at times even if the lower pedigree player is better.

Yeah, I mean he can be stubborn there… its not absolute but it takes a lot more from a low “pedigree” player to supplant a higher round pick . I think Tomlin does, at times, overvalue college production..

There are exceptions, of course.. but they almost always involve special teams or extreme PR issues, where the fan base and media are eating him alive…
.
I think the two obvious active situations regarding this are how the QB “ competition” played out in the preseason… where Mason was unequivocally the best and Mitch probably showed the least, but the end result was basically who was drafted higher … and the Punter situation, where PH3 was clearly inferior to waitman ( who has a better gross average than ph3 this year despite LEADING the league in downed punts inside the 20…)

* another factor is how we religiously bring in failed first round picks he loved coming out of college

Who the hell knows because no one was given a chance. That's most peoples point. If your playing like **** give the next man up a chance. What have you got to lose. Look at this weekend with all of the injuries. No one gave us a chance , but they gave the next 3 CB's a chance and they all performed well. All teams have players behind the starters , sometimes is just good for a player to know there *** can be benched, may light a fire under them. But the old we don't have anybody to replace them is just bullcrap.
