Meh. As a former HC and now a talking head, Cowher got it right. As a HC who is still coaching Tomlin got it right.
 
Yeah, we gotta remember Cowher has spent more time behind the camera than as the HC on the sidelines now. He’s really not a great television personality imo. Insightful and I think that is why he’s remained so long. But not controversial like some of them. Maybe this was his attempt.
 
Cowher was just speaking up for the guys who put in the time working their way up the coaching ranks. I think the one thing that really bothered him and others is Saturday turned down an assistant role in the past.

Understood.

But I expected his comment to be more in line with what Tomlin said..

Disappointed if Cowher is "just trying to controversial"...
I've held him in higher regard than that.
 
Yeah, I think Cowher was out of line considering that Saturday has a lot more NFL playing experience and is 12 years older than Cowher was when he became a head coach. I think the “working your way up through the coaching ranks” belief is overrated. You either have football smarts and insight or you don’t.

Never happen. but 1 can dream. I guess I could take a leave of absense from my real job and take the intern thingy
