Immaculate Reception
Harrison INT
Ben to Santonio
Bradshaw, 73 yards to Stallworth
Ben's ankle tackle

No idea what the big deal was with #5. #4 was a great play but not sure it is worthy of top 5 in Steeler history....the Swann catch in the SB was better in my opinion than Troy's catch. Your top 3 are no doubt the best 3 plays in Steelers history, though I would have Santonio's catch #3, Silverback's pick #2, and the Immaculate Reception #1. No play will ever touch #1. Thanks for sharing.

Great Post RON !!! I feel #1 & #2 could arguably be interchanged. I lean a little bit towards the immaculate reception, due to what was yet to come. Nothing taken away form James Harrison., as I said, arguably either way.
#3 & #4 & #5 could go in any order , but I'd chose #4 / 5 / 3 in that order. Just my $16.50 with a pair....

Hard to go against the immaculate reception, but ben to holmes won the super bowl.

I can't narrow it down to a top 5 list but here are some of my fondest memories in Steelers history in no particular order....with the exception of the Immaculate Reception which is an obvious #1 as many consider it one of the Greatest if not The Greatest Play of All-Time.

Immaculate Reception
Harrison's 100yd TD return in Super Bowl XLIII
Ben to Holmes game winning TD in Super Bowl XLIII
Polamalu Int for TD in AFCCG in 2008 vs the Rats.....was pretty damn sweet seeing him cross the goal line for the TD and think.....WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL was exhilarating!
Bradshaw to Swann Super Bowl X
Bradshaw to Brown TD pass Super Bowl IX that all but clinched the Steelers their first championship
Ben's tackle vs Nick Harper and the Colts after Bettis's fumble at the goal line....I don't think I've ever been more emotional over a game than that one...I blacked out on that play.....and I'm not kidding.
Bradshaw to Stallworth 73 yds Super Bowl XIII...after trailing into the 4th quarter the Steelers took the lead for good with this TD pass to Stallworth
Randel El to Hines Ward in Super Bowl XL
Andy Russell's 93 yd TD return vs Colts in the 1975 playoffs....the longest fumble return for a TD ever!
Troy INT vs Chargers in regular season...can't remember the year but he scooped it up about a half an inch from the ground...incredible. I know it wasn't playoffs but it was an amazing play...you'll never see again.
Ben to Antonio Brown in the 2010 AFCCG vs the Jets...it wasn't a big completion but it clinched us going to the Super Bowl and seeing Rex Ryan junk his headset and toss an obvious F-Bomb on national TV was pretty sweet.

This is my personal favorite.....
Jack Lambert Super Bowl X after Cliff Harris of the Cowboys taunts Roy Gerela for missing a FG...Harris pats Gerela on the helmet as if to say "WTG buddy"...Lambert grabbed Harris and threw him the ground like a rag doll. Lambert played the rest of the game like a man possessed. It set the tone for the rest of the game IMO the Cowboys lost the physical and mental part of the game when Lambert did that and it ignited the Steelers as a team for the rest of that game.

That's a good list, I didn't get to see anything from the 70's live, only replays. But one play I would add to that list is Willie Parkers 75 yard TD run in Super Bowl XL. I remember freaking out after that play and just KNOWING that we were going to win after that.

Yaz beat me to it !!!!! I was going to ADD that as well :)

Not sure how No. 5 made it on that video. It's a great play in all but top 5? Not a chance. I'm not sure it would crack the top 20.

Trying to remember a play and its real sketchy in my head,, so please forgive me,, but I will try to explain.

It was a rod woodson play. it was at the end of a game . It was playoffs,, or to get into the playoffs. He either got an interception or recovered an onsides kick to give us the ball back and time was running out. Yes I know the difference I just cant remember exactly what it was...

I could easily come up with five more for a top ten but I kinda weighed the importance of the plays as well. The Immaculate Reception has to be #1 but just the same that was the first playoff game the Steelers ever won. One could easily add Willie Parker's SB TD run, Ben's ankle tackle, Stallworth's TD bomb in the SB, Swann's juggling catch (which should be mandatory for all Steeler WR's to watch ten times a day in slo-mo), Bettis pancaking Erlacher, and any of Hines Ward's wipeouts of Ed Reed, Keith Rivers, and Bart Scott.

I agree and it is hard to pick a top 5 but the Parker TD run is a super bowl record, which in my eyes makes it a great play. I am not sure it is top 5 but it is in the discussion. Nice to have a long great history as the Steelers do to be able to have so many great plays to choose from. :o

This may not be a play but since I am a huge fan of James I vote for the suplex by Debo on the Brown fan.

Charles Davenport

Sorry read this too quickly. Thought it was five best players.

#5 is more controversial than "great", but the others are locks for me. Is it me or does it get a little dusty in the room watching those great plays? Awesome way to start the day.

Some of my favorite lesser great plays:

Breaking Carson Palmer's leg in the 05 playoffs.
Harrison hurdling LT on an INT return on MNF in 05
Harrison tackling a Browns Fan on Christmas Eve in Cleveland.
Polamalu coming off the edge blitz in Baltimore to force a Flacco fumble that led to our game clinching TD.
Holmes catching the ball at the goal line moving out of the endzone in Baltimore to clinch the division.
Gary Anderson's 51yd kick vs Houston in the playoffs
Ward knocking out Ed Reed and Sharper on blocks.
Ben to Wallace as time expired to score a TD vs the Packers
Townsend intercepting Romo to seal the comeback victory vs the Cowboys when we were down by 10 in the 4th.

That was the play Myron Cope dubbed, "Act Of Rod". It was in the 89 playoffs, down in Houston.

Can you fill me in a little more.. ? I remember watching it... but its like a dream you cant remember..

There are a lot of "Dreams you can't remember" when it comes to GREAT Steelers' plays!!!!!!

There are a lot of "Dreams you can't remember" when it comes to GREAT Steelers' plays!!!!!!

I have been watching since 74 or something... yeah a lot of memories... a lot of them get blurry as the years go by.

An Overtime for the Ages

The Steelers won the toss in overtime, but failed to capitalize on offense, and another horrendously poor punt gave the Oilers the ball at the Pittsburgh 45. The Steelers story book season, it appeared, was about to end.

For the entire game the Oilers had been running right. But on their first play in OT, tight end Chris Verhulst lined up next to the tackle, a tendency the Steelers defense knew signaled run to the left.

David Little screamed “Ohio!” warning of the impending run.

The ball was snapped. Warren Moon handed off to Lorenzo White.

Gerg Lloyd filled the gap at tackle, forcing White to the Outside...
•...Out of nowhere Rod Woodson rocketed into Lorenzo White.

As he told Sport’s Illustrated’s Rick Reilly, “This is a sell out game. If you don’t sell your body now and go flying at someone you’ll never do it.”
•As Woodson throttled White high, Tim Johnson hit him low, the ball popped lose, and Woodson recovered, and returned it to the Houston 46.

The Steelers looked to Number 33 again, and Merril Hoge again answered in the affirmative, dragging Houston safety Jeff Donaldson for the last five, for a first down. Hoge then added three more, taking it to the Houston 33.

Third down brought the Steelers nothing.

It was Gary Anderson’s time.

1989 playoff game in Houston.... Anderson went on to kick 50 yarder.

Awesome recap B&G Bleeder !! I've been since 68' so definitely can't remember them all. One of mine was and I can't remember who we were playing. Levon Kirkland made an interception while covering a long pas near our end zone. He takes off, gets down around the 6-5-4 yard line then runs out of bounds only having their QB to beat. He was so gassed, hard not to laugh. But here is the GREAT part, the Offense scores and they come out to make the extra point. KIRKLAND, was holding for the extra point, how kewl was that. Cowher's comment was, well he got us down there, he should get some of the fun.

Salute the nation

I really don't remember that... Kirkland held the extra point?

YES, I about **** when I seen that :) The score sealed a run away game, so the Extra Point was no big deal. Players and coach, just having fun !!!!
