huge team win! all 3 phases of the game stepped up

Real happy to see Claypool do what we knew he was capable of.He made some outstanding catches and Mitch made some outstanding throws
Yeah, I was thinking his agent must have had a chat with him this week and reminded him that this is his FA year.

Most certainly had big games when we needed this the most.

Claypool was great but now I hope he has matured and doesn't let it go to his head. He will have everybody patting him on the back and it would be easy for him to take himself for granted, I hope he keeps working hard on bettering himself.

lets trade him!

Claypool showed what he can do. 7 catches on 7 targets, many of them were very good to great catches. He actually looked like a stud WR. I'd love for him to keep it up. No reason to not give him even more targets next week.

next year is the end of his rookie contract. FA in 2004.

Mitch won that game for us yesterday...
In fact, I think we win the Jets game if Tomlin didn't make the move to Pickett at halftime...which the more I think about it was absolutely the wrong thing to do at the time.

Sunday is huge for Mitch to prove he can continue to play like he did in relief yesterday..

Maybe the guy is a better closer than starter?

If he isn't extended before then.

lol - my bad. posting early.

I think the difference was no pressure. He's the back-up. If he fails, that's why he's the back up. He played confident, unrestrained yesterday. If he'd done that from the beginning instead of worrying about Kenny Pickett, he'd probably still be starting.

I think they resign him and that's not based on yesterday's production but yesterday showed the potential of what Claypuff can be. That will merit a contract.

Great observation.

Confidence is crucial to being a starting quarterback in the NFL (or at any level, really). 90% of the home stadium calling for his backup every time Trubisky made a bad throw was a tremendous amount of pressure, and you could almost see it having a tangible negative effect on his play.

I think that if Kenny is deemed out for an extended period, and Mitch continues to play well in his absence, then there is still hope for #10.

Love this angle. Look how Mitch wasn’t looking but you can tell he had clay the whole way. Then letr rip

For those of you who didn't see the game or want to watch it again. It's on this evening at 8:15pm on the NFL Network.
