My opinion is make the third QB fully active. Every team could have a strong developmental guy for sneaks. Then it is what it is. In Canadian football you can push other players and in the process push you teammate from an angle. You cannot shove directly from the back. Thoughts?

They say that the Eagles success with the play is attributed to the Q's lower body strength. Well when they line up there is no deception. Anyone couod put an Hback type for that play. All those dudes can squat 600 too.

That's what Baltimore does. Even with Jackson being the athlete that he is, they have Andrews take the snap.

If the NFL creates a rule because a specific play has a high percentage rate of success, then they're retarded.

Rules should solely be in place for player safety and fair gamesmanship, and there have been no significant injuries to date.

The D's need to start pushing their DLmen from behind to help stop this. When the first flag is thrown because of the D's actions it will show everyone what the NFL is doing. There will be no hiding it from even the dumbest fans. "What, the D gets penalized for pushing, but the O doesn't?"

It's a terrible part of the game to watch, unlike the rest of the game, and with no real relevance to other football game plays/strategy.

Kudos to those who came up with a new plan, but it's only "successful" because of a lack of enforcement on the leverage clearly created.

I can watch a whole game that focuses on running up the middle, or passing down the field, but couldn't imagine watching a game full of tush pushes.

It's gotta go because it sucks to watch and detracts from the rest of the game's athleticism, strategy and uncertainty.

Wah-wah-wah.. Learn to stop it and don't cry to Goodell every time an "injustice" occurs. Keep them from getting that close to the goalline in the first place. Like anything else, defenses will figure it out. Too many ******* rules in the NFL as it is and leads to **** like what we now see with kickoffs and announcing offside kicks. Get the **** out of here with that bullshit! That's one of many reasons the game has gone to ****.

Yeah I'd rather see Bettis bust through the line to score a TD but if an offensive lineman picks up the kicker, puts him over his head and throws him and the ball over the line to beat the Cowboys in the Superbowl, I'll take it.

But isn’t the push used anywhere on the field in short yardage situations?

Isn't the Polamalu leap over the line now banned? I remember Warner of the 49ers doing the same not too long ago. That's one way of trying to stop the tush push, I guess.

Same set of rules for both sides of the ball, A-ok.

LoL @ master-Blaster

Salute the nation

Nay to the push.
No pushing and shoving. Keep football as traditional and pure as possible.

“It’s up to the D to stop it” makes me laugh.
Since the days of Mel Blount to todays coddling of of QB’s, haven’t we put the D at a disadvantage enough times?

More often than not the push will win.
The Eagles have used it on consecutive downs. If the first try fails, the second one always succeeds.
That according to AI.
That’s some lame football according to me

Ha! That reminds me of that scene from Mad Max Thunderdome ...

Broderick Jones is Blaster, Boswell Master?

Whatever works, just don't run off to Goodell to make for more rules if it it irritates their vagina(s).

I like the idea of no outside assistance. No pulling pushing or throwing . Qb sneak fine, motioned trap, fine . Just no pushing the QB or pulling, etc.
Sure. Hell we can throw a kicker over them damn mountains if we have to
might pick someone more stout than the kicker,,,, but yeah, if tush push is ok ,,, lets launch a guy like gonzo from the muppet show!

It should absolutely be banned. Offense already has too much advantage.

You can't stop the tush push. The offense will always win the initial surge because they know the snap count. The reason defenses could stop a QB sneak is because the defense is able to have Lbs stack and do a reverse tush push to push the line which made it possible to lose the initial surge put push it back with extra bodies. That was how defense could stop a sneak. But if you allow the offense to also push then that defensive advantage is negated.

Years ago they put the Mel Blount rule in effect. Prior to that, DBs could pretty much tackle WRs at will with no calls. The league realized it was too much advantage defense so they banned it and modern passing games with timing routes changed the game,

Imagine if every team puts in the work like the Eagles so now every single game you watch from NFL to pee wee has offenses doing tush push on 3rd and 2 (maybe 3) and then converting for the 1st down or TD nearly 95% of the time. You don't even need a QB like Hurts. Just have a TE or RB take the snap. No more clever plays, no more drama, just 1 or 2 tush pushes and a conversion. Is that good for the game?

3rd and 4th and short are the money downs and now they'll be about as exciting as extra points. Note that they moved back the extra point because it was too automatic.

If tush push spreads and becomes the norm, it will change the game in a bad way.

Thanks for saying it better.

If we had the Tunch Push back all you naysaying wallpaper paste eating mother ******* would be just fine with it. We don't so cry, cry, cry...Wah, wah, wah.. Bahbbb, you gotta fix this!!! sniff...Make a new rule,,,puhlease!!

The next rule change I expect to see is that the D will have to be on the sideline for 2nd down and can not join the play until the ball is snapped
