US plan going forward?

So that begs the question: Where the hell are these young people getting the money to live their day to day lives? How are they paying their cell phone bills, rent, car payments and gas? How are they surviving without an income?
Live at home with their parents. When you're not paying for the roof over your head then your life doesn't cost much. Also the rates for marriage, childbirths, and car ownership among young people are near all-time lows in the U.S. "I don't need a car, I just call an Uber."

Yeah, my kid doesn't watch TV. Didn't want a car for graduation. She's going to grad school at FSU and lives with her BF. They both have jobs but prefer public transportation to car bills and heightened responsibility. And they're ******* vegan, lmao. Costs a fortune to eat.

Don't worry. Eventually you will win her back with bacon.....it's just a matter of time.

I saw a lot of that from my kids from the ages of 16-22, but they all had a change of opinion once they entered the work force. Now all 3 are die hard Capitalists. Though they are a bit more socially liberal than mom and dad.

Not sure where to put this:

Ok
A. Most manufacturing jobs, save for the narrow swath that the free trade agreements dont cover, will still end up in Mexico and Canada... but that is a good thing, because
-1. We want immigration for people who want to live here and not just work here and send money home. A booming manufacturing industry in mexico will siphon off a significant portion of people trying to get in here for the wrong reasons... that lets the border patrol focus on actual criminals and not just dipshits chasing jobs.
-2. Access to critical manufactured goods wont be across the sea in case of various disruption such as port closures or war..
-3. We can influence Mexico and Canada in regards to product safety, quality, and environmental impact far greater than the asian countries...

Mexico secretly is looking at the tarrifs as a huge boon to their economy...

The jobs that will return to the us probably will be the high tech manufacturing and things like heavy machinery..

Im not sure textiles and other bulk products will end up back here... plus a lot of that will be totally automated soon enough anyways...

A blast from the past:
